Michael Jordan’s Air Jordan 11 is getting a Halloween-ready glow-up, and it’s all happening in the kid’s section. The Air Jordan 11 Retro “Sneaker School” drops in a Black/Barely Volt/Dark Raisin/White colorway, and it’s not just your average spooky-season sneaker. The design keeps the base mostly black, swapping the usual patent leather for a velvet-like texture, while Barely Volt accents hit the branding and outsole. And here’s the kicker: the outsole glows in the dark. This makes it the first Air Jordan 11 ever to feature a luminescent finish.
The heel sports a Jumpman logo next to a claw mark, which fits perfectly with the Halloween hype. Surprisingly, the box leans into back-to-school energy rather than ghosts and goblins, with notebook graphics that scream “homework over horror.” The Sneaker School edition is set to release on October 4 for $185 at nike.com and select Jordan Brand retailers globally, carrying the style code IB1378-001.

The AJ 11 isn’t the only glow-in-the-dark action happening this season. Michael Jordan’s Air Jordan 4 RM is also stepping into the light with its Gamma Blue version, which includes glow accents thanks to BMX pro Nigel Sylvester. That silhouette has had more makeovers than a Disney Channel star post-2010, and this might be its brightest yet. Glow-in-the-dark kicks aren’t brand new—Nike has experimented with the effect before, from the 2012 “Galaxy” LeBron 9s and KD 4s to Halloween-ready Air Force 1 “Skeletons.” Even the Across the Spider-Verse Jordan 1 got a little nighttime magic, and the 2017 KAWS x Air Jordan 4 also lit up under low light.
Sneakerheads always argue over which Air Jordans rank at the top, but what about asking the GOAT himself? A resurfaced video has Jordan listing his four favorite sneakers. “That’s hard, you know? It’s like saying which one of your kids you like the most,” he said. “The 11s are my favorite. The 3s are my next favorite. And probably the 12s or 13s come in third.” Jordan also explained why he went through a new pair every game. “If you ever were a kid, and you put on those shoes for the first time, it’s like you feel energetic. You feel like you got something you can actually showcase. I wanted that feeling every game.”

The Air Jordan 11 Sneaker School is just one of several AJ 11 releases coming in the fourth quarter of 2025. December brings a reissue of the Gamma Blue colorway for the first time. Other new looks include a Rare Air style, a women’s-exclusive “Grand Finale,” and a mysterious drop nicknamed “Coldest in the Game,” though no images have surfaced yet.
Between glow-in-the-dark soles, velvet textures, and claw-marked heels, Michael Jordan’s Air Jordan line continues to prove it can evolve while staying true to its legacy.
