We’ve all been impatiently waiting for the return of the Air Diamond Turf model to Nike’s lineup, especially since the company’s 2023 reunion with American football coach Deion Sanders. After all, this model, with its iconic midfoot strap, was a game-changer when it first debuted in 1994, marking the beginning of a successful partnership between the Swoosh and Prime Time. Thankfully, our wait is finally over. Nike is set to release the Air Diamond Turf in its popular “Falcons” colourway TOMORROW, a moment that’s sure to stir up some fond memories among fans.

A Closer Look At The Sneaker

The sneaker’s colour scheme of White, Fire Red, Black, and Metallic Gold is essentially a nod to Deion Sanders’ memorable era with the Atlanta Falcons. The upper is made of white and black leather with gold mesh accents on the strategically placed midfoot strap cutouts. On top, the recognisable Swoosh emblem is on full display in vivid red, a colour that extends to the heel tab and inner lining. Finally, a thick undulating midsole in white, red, and black completes the look, along with a touch of gold on the embroidered “Nike Air” insignia on the heel to bring back fond memories of the OG version.

Sure, we may have waited almost a decade for the return of this popular sneaker, but the wait will be well worth it for fans of Deion Sanders and the Air Diamond Turf range. Sanders’ Must Be The Money song and music video from the ’90s are still forgivable, but I doubt we’d be able to pardon him if he didn’t bringing these iconic sneakers back into the spotlight.

There may have been some initial doubts over the model’s return, as Sanders’ signature line was not relaunched in the same chronological order as the OG releases. Nike began the retro rollout with the Nike Air Diamond Turf Max ’96, which is actually Prime Time’s third signature shoe in the lineup. Still, we’re happy that the Swoosh Label is taking a few steps back and returning the Air Diamond Turf back to its roots.
