Nike has been throwing everything at the Air Force 1 Low lately. We’ve had pairs inspired by houseflies, leafy camo versions that look like they crawled out of a nature documentary, corduroy builds for chilly days, and even the metallic-looking Air Force 1 ’07 LV8 “Metalwork.” Now, just in time for fall, Nike has decided your sneakers should double as dress shoes. Enter the Nike Air Force 1 Low “Brown Croc Skin Leather,” also known by some as the “Fauna Brown.”
At first glance, you’d be forgiven for thinking this was something your granddad might wear to Sunday service. The entire upper comes drenched in crocodile-textured dark brown leather, while the midsole gets wrapped in a lighter “Underbrush” shade of leather. Underneath it all sits a matching brown outsole, tying the whole package together. Throw in gold lace dubraes and a cross-stitched leather tongue tag, and suddenly the AF1 has gone from streetwear staple to “Hey, my sneakers match our leather sofa!”
Lil Yachty even jumped into the mix recently, showing off his own croc-inspired Air Force 1 Low from his “Concrete Boys” line on his private account. If one of hip-hop’s biggest sneakerheads is cosigning reptilian textures, you know Nike isn’t too far off the mark.

So, where exactly does the Nike Air Force 1 Low “Brown Croc Skin Leather” actually fit in? It’s Nike leaning into luxury with a wink. Bruce Kilgore’s original 1982 “presidential” design has been reimagined countless times, but this particular makeover feels like it could walk straight into a boardroom, or a wedding reception, or a funeral without raising any eyebrows. Contrast stitching runs across the profile, the croc texture covers everything from toe to heel, and the leather midsole is expected to age (or patina, if you want to sound fancy) with time, giving each pair a slightly different look.
The Nike Air Force 1 Low “Fauna Brown” is expected to release this November for $140 on Nike.com and select retailers. It might not replace your actual loafers, but it could be the most stylish crossover between streetwear and dress shoes you’ll see this year.
