While Batman Day has come and gone, 2024 remains the year of the Caped Crusader, as the hero turns the big 8-5 this year. As we continue honouring his enduring legacy and our love of all things Batman, we spotlight a Nike Kobe 5 “Batman Beyond” sneaker custom by Javornie Brathwaite of @jsbthecreator.
A Closer Look At The Sneaker
The sleek black and red colourway of this custom Kobe 5 instantly evokes Terry McGinnis’ futuristic Batsuit.
The shoe’s base is entirely covered in black, but the overlays and base have subtle detailing variations. For example, the toe box and quarter panels feature a white circuitry pattern that runs through them, and on the quarter panels, bats are discreetly tucked into the design. On the other hand, the eyestays and toe have red circuitry patterns. You’ll also find that red dominates the Swooshes and Bat logos on the tongue and heel.
To finish the look, Batman Beyond graphics on the insole show Terry in his Batsuit and an image of his mentor, Bruce Wayne, on the left.
