Chicago-born artist and designer Nina Chanel Abney has been teasing working with Nike again for a while, and we are pleased to announce that the collaboration has finally become a reality. After months of seeing nothing but a detached heel tab, images have surfaced on both Instagram and X. The gorgeous Nina Chanel Abney x Nike Air Jordan 3 will likely drop in a couple of months.
Nina Chanel Abney x Air Jordan 3 Sneakers
Nina Chanel Abney is up to her usual tricks, taking an already gorgeous silhouette and elevating it with her signature style. From the images that have been shared around the internet in recent months, the sneakers are gorgeous. They are bound to be a sellout when they eventually hit stores.
Starting at the bottom, the sneakers sport a gorgeous Fossil – creamy bone shade – on their sole unit, which is notably all one colour as opposed to many Air Jordan 3 sneakers that choose to separate the outer and midsole with alternating colours.
Of course, the signature exposed Air Unit in the heel is present and untouched. As usual, there are some hidden design elements on the outsole if you look at the sneakers from underneath. A section under the ball of the foot is bright lime green, with a contrasting bright green under the rest of the foot.
Looking up from the base, the sneakers’ upper is a gorgeous Malachite green canvas, with certain elements and overlays replaced with a slightly more vibrant green suede. These suede sections comprise the mudguard, the heel area, and the lace unit.
Choice elements, like the lace stays, the laces themselves, the Jumpman branding on the tongue, the inner lining of the sneakers and tongue, and the heel section, all follow the same shade as the outsole, cohesively bringing the sneakers together.
The branding on the back of the sneakers looks more raised than usual and matches the shade of the suede throughout the sneaker because instead of embroidery, it is a chenille material. Sections of co-branding include a bright orange tag on the back and a tag on the inner lining of the tongue, matching the subtle element on the outsole.

Nina Chanel Abney’s work has always been a big hit with the sneaker community. Since the drop of her Air Jordan 2 collection, we have definitely counted ourselves among the sneakerhead collective eagerly awaiting news about her next collaboration with the Jumpman brand.
The wait was well worth it, as these gorgeous sneakers that play with texture and have a simultaneous earthy, neutral, and highly-fashionable feel are stunning to look at and would be a great addition to any sneakerhead’s collection.
Release Details
While there has been some umming and awing about the Summer release date of these sneakers, they are currently expected to drop on June 20th, 2024. Stay tuned to see if these dates change.
Sneaker Bar Detroit has stated that the sneakers will be dropping in extended women’s sizing up to 16.5W and that we can expect the sneakers to be sold for $225.
