UPDATE: The “Shattered Backboard” AJ1s will make their comeback on July 12, 2025 in full-family sizing.

Next year looks set to be a nostalgia-filled journey for Jordan Brand enthusiasts. In celebration of the Jumpman’s 40th anniversary, the brand is re-releasing a slew of classic OG sneakers, ranging from the Air Jordan 1 High “Bred” to the iconic Air Jordan 5 “Grape”. Adding to the excitement, whispers about the return of the coveted Air Jordan 1 High OG “Shattered Backboard” have also emerged. This distinctive colourway takes its cue from a jersey Michael Jordan wore when he famously shattered a backboard with a powerful dunk during an exhibition game in Italy back in 1985.

A Closer Look At The Sneaker

It’s been a decade since the Air Jordan 1 High OG “Shattered Backboard” first graced shelves in 2015. Now, it’s poised to return, maintaining its iconic OG colour blocking. While there have been several reimaginings of this beloved colourway over the years, fans have eagerly awaited its re-release in its original form.

The sneaker is expected to feature the familiar palette of “Black,” “Starfish,” and “Sail.” It starts with a sail foundation, creating a neutral yet chic backdrop. The bright “Starfish” orange hue then brings a lively flair to the toe box, heel, and ankle flap. Complementing this vibrancy, sleek black elements finish the design, offering a perfectly balanced look.

While we don’t yet know what materials will be used, there’s hope that the quality and attention to detail will be on par with previous releases. If that holds true, this 2025 reissue is set to be among the year’s most sought-after drops. For now, enjoy images of the 2015 release below.

Air Jordan 1 High OG “Shattered Backboard” Release Details
