Brathwaite has put together two Jordan sneaker designs inspired by the PlayStation 1 and PlayStation 2 consoles. Naturally, the PlayStation 1 aesthetics have been reinterpreted onto the Jordan 1 Zoom CMFT silhouette. This unique style boasts a light grey suede base, complemented by matching patent leather overlays and a translucent ankle flap. The unmistakable PlayStation logo is proudly displayed on the ankle and at the bottom of the outsole, with a symphony of colours shining out from beneath.

Next, the sleek black and blue design of the PlayStation 2 is translated onto the Jordan 2 model. The base is black pebbled leather, with an ombre blue heel and trim details that echo the branding accents on the PS2 console.
While these designs are not part of an official team-up, they offer a delightful glimpse into what could have been the perfect designs for the console’s 30th anniversary celebrations in 2024 or the Jordan Brand’s 40th anniversary this year. In fact, the overwhelming response in the comments section is a testament to the fact that this collaboration is something fans would undoubtedly love to see.

An Instagram user wrote, “Ufff a must have”, followed by another simply commenting, “I need these”. Fans are even showing admiration for the controversial Jordan 2 silhouette, with one user saying, “Bout the coldest pair tennis shoes I’ve ever seen in my entire life”, while another admirably stated, “My guy. You will singlehandedly sell out 2s!!” It’s evident that sneakerheads appreciate a well-executed nostalgic design, and an official partnership between PlayStation and Jordan Brand has enormous potential.
That being said, Nike and Jordan Brand do have a history of collaborating with well-known figures in the gaming industry. For starters, Jordan Brand created a special edition “X-box” Jordan 1 Mid for the 2018 Electronic Entertainment Expo with glow-in-the-dark outsoles in the brand’s signature green colour.
Nike, on the other hand, worked with Travis Scott and PlayStation in 2020 to develop a limited edition of 24 pairs of the extremely coveted Nike Dunk Low sneakers that remain as elusive as they are sought after.
Still, whenever they do offer these one-of-a-kind collaborative gaming sneakers, they appear in limited quantities or are not made available to a large audience. So maybe there’s a better possibility of getting these custom PlayStation Jordan sneakers from the very talented Brathwaite.
Although the designs are still in the concept stage, the custom shoe artist typically makes his most popular designs available for customers to buy—more often than not, actually. So make sure to give these kicks some love on his Instagram page and keep an eye out for the day when they become available.
