The release of Swarovski’s crystal-covered collaboration with Nike has been long anticipated, but we’re glad to say it is almost here. Although there are two colourways available for the holidays, our own fave is the vivid “Pimento” option. But there’s one major issue with this sneaker!
A Closer Look At The Sneaker
The latest project between Swarovski and Nike (yes, there have been a few in recent years) sees the ’90s model bathed in sparkling red, orange, and yellow crystals. However, what we like best about this design is that it pays homage to the classic Air Max 1 “Sunset” colour scheme.
The crystals are organised in a gradient pattern throughout the upper, with a black base and TPU overlays for balance. The pair concludes with a branded sac stuffed with glittery goodies to ensure these kicks maintain their lustre.
Sure, it’s a lovely pair, but does it really deserve the $550 USD price tag, especially considering they chose a mesh inner rather than a leather inner lining? We’re not too sure it does.
Swarovski x Nike Air Max Plus “Pimento” Release Details
This crystal-encrusted Air Max Plus is set to release on December 5, 2024. It will be available through Nike.com at a retail price of $550 USD in women’s sizes.
However, women’s-only styles like the Air Jordan 1 “Polaroid,” Air Jordan 11 “Bred Velvet,”and the Air Jordan 12 “Phantom” are always options if you can’t justify spending the $550 USD on these sneakers.
