We have been watching the promotional sneakers released for the latest Spider-Man movie, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, which continues the stunning animation story we have come to know and love. While the sneakers are only being released on the 20th of May (which is just around the corner), some sneaker reviewers have managed to get a fantastic pair. Also, the Spider-Man sneakers glow in the dark!
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Glow In The Dark Outsole
When looking at the stunning white and red Air Jordan 1s, your first assumption might not be that the red outsole would glow in the dark because it seems completely normal at first glance, but surprisingly, it does!
Sneaker reviewer Steve Natto made a YouTube video showing off the stunning glow of these impressive sneakers, including how to get them to glow in the dark.
Nothing happened when trying to get the sneakers to glow using his phone’s flash (which works well to make most glow-in-the-dark products do their thing). So with that method not proving fruitful, he moved on to the best source of life known to man, the sun.
Surprisingly, this worked a charm, and the results were enchanting. The entire red outsole lights up with a stunning white light you might not expect from a glow-in-the-dark product, which is usually illuminated with a signature green glow. When glowing, the sneakers have a gorgeous shine and brilliance, unlike any glow-in-the-dark outsole you have ever seen. It is so bright that it looks like it might be battery-powered LEDs in the outsoles and not just glow-in-the-dark technology.
Until Nike tells us more about the construction of the sneakers and how exactly they got the outsole to glow such a stunning white without looking greenish, that secret will remain theirs. Still, it has something to do with the red colour cancelling out the usual green. But who knows?
