PUMA has been on a mission in recent weeks, releasing bold new colourways for their various sneaker ranges. This includes the likes of the TMNT x Puma Melo MB.04 and PUMA Inhale. The PUMA Mostro Camo falls into the same bold refresh with its camouflage aesthetics.
The PUMA Mostro was first released before the turn of the new millennium in 1999. Named after the Italian word for monster, the Mostro sneaker evoked the ethos of a hybrid design, inspired by the running spikes made famous in the 60s and combined with the beach-ready surfing shoes a few decades later in the 80s.
This edition of the Mostro adds a stylistic touch to the technical low-top silhouette. It bridges the gap between old and new, past and present and continues its signature spiked sole with the inclusion of a utilitarian strap closure. These two clandestine colourways feature a painted woodland camouflage scheme. The first of these is a monochromatic black and white sneaker, while the second includes more earthy green and brown hues. Each of these sneakers features premium materials, which include suede on the Formstrip.
The sneaker could present a little bit of a challenge to pair with conventional streetwear but should go well with a more utilitarian fit. There’s definitely a uniqueness to the sneaker’s look with its spiked design and bold upper. Similarly, you’ll need to take on a bold look yourself to pull off the look with the Mostro Camo.
The PUMA Mostro Camo pack is set to release this coming weekend, available from 7 December 2024. Fans can get their hands on a pair online at PUMA.com, as well as in PUMA Retail stores and participating retail partners.
