The 80s decade provided some of the most iconic pop-culture content that still plays a significant role in modern fashion, games, movies and more. It was the era when sneakers became more than just function, the rise of the gaming industry, and was defined by an insane soundtrack. Two of these pop-culture icons that paved the way during this period have joined forces in 2026 for one of the most anticipated collaborations of the year. Capcom and PUMA have released their Street Fighter x PUMA Suede collection, featuring three silhouettes based on the most beloved characters within the franchise.

From Arcade Cabinet to Hollywood: Street Fighter’s Long Road Here
Since the original release of the video game in 1987, Street Fighter has been a mainstay of the industry for many decades, albeit with mixed returns on reviews for many of its main titles and spin-offs. Although the original game was a success, its predecessor, Street Fighter II – more officially labelled Street Fighter II: The World Warrior – is what most fans refer to, having introduced new characters such as Balrog, Blanka, Chun-Li, Dhalsim, E. Honda, Guile, M. Bison, Vega and Zangief, over the original duo of Ken and Ryu from the first game.
With the latest attempt at a live-action Street Fighter movie releasing in October 2026, there is plenty of buzz surrounding its return to the silver screen. As a result of the hype, fueled largely by the list of stars featured in the film and the recently released trailer, there will no doubt be several opportunities for collaborations for merchandising, from figurines, toys and other collectables to fashion and lifestyle, and everything in between. The announcement of the PUMA X Capcom collab is just one of many to come.
The film’s ensemble is stacked with fighters beyond the three getting sneakers: 50 Cent’s confirmed casting as Balrog and Olivier Richters stepping into Zangief’s boots give PUMA an obvious roadmap if this Suede pack expands, since neither character has a sneaker yet.
Every Sneaker in the Street Fighter x PUMA Suede Pack
With the Suede sneaker, PUMA has also embedded itself into street culture and modern pop culture. The sneaker has undergone plenty of iterations, collabs and fresh paint jobs over its iconic first appearance in 1968, most notably at the Olympic Games that same year. For its 2026 collaboration with Capcom, the brand has introduced three new variants for the three main protagonists from the Street Fighter franchise: Chun Li, Ken and Ryu, each with their own unique characteristics.
The Suede sneaker features a distinctive distressed suede, with primary colours matching each character’s theme in blue, red and white. Each of the silhouettes also includes their names on the soles as well as tags on the left shoe with the text “World Warrior Tournament.” The Chun Li pair features gold rivets to accent the PUMA Formstrip, with gold text and logos scattered throughout. The Ken and Ryu sneakers feature paint splotches on the upper with the inclusion of the fireball “logo” on the right-hand side heel tab.
Style Codes, Price and What We Still Don’t Know
Each pair now has an official PUMA style code, even with pricing still unconfirmed: the Ryu colourway is 410647-01, Ken Masters is 410646-01, and Chun-Li is 410648-01. All three are expected to release in unisex sizing. The drop also lines up with a bigger milestone for the silhouette itself — 2026 marks the PUMA Suede’s 58th anniversary, the same shoe Tommie Smith wore on the podium at the 1968 Mexico City Olympics.
This isn’t Street Fighter‘s first sneaker rodeo, either. Capcom has previously teamed up with Reebok and adidas for Street Fighter-themed footwear, while the wider fighting-game genre has crossed over into sneakers before, including a Kith x Asics Marvel vs. Capcom collection. What’s different this time is the direct movie tie-in, which is why the timing lines up so tightly with the October release.
When Does the Street Fighter x PUMA Suede Collection Release?
Although there is no official release date as yet, we expect the sneakers to drop closer to the film’s release date of 16 October 2026. The question is whether we’ll see a few more characters featuring their own sneakers across a few other PUMA silhouettes from its archives.
Multiple sneaker outlets are now placing the pack in a Fall 2026 release window through PUMA.com and select retailers, with pricing still marked TBA across the board as of publication.
