The NBA tunnel walk has become a runway for players to show off their personal style, especially when it comes to sneakers. Players have been seen wearing everything from rare Air Jordan grails to diamond-encrusted shoes during their pre-game walks. In particular, Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum has elevated his tunnel walk to heroic proportions by simply showing off (not even wearing) a pair of eye-catching custom Superman-themed Tatum 3 sneakers at Game 1 of the NBA Playoffs.
A Closer Look At The Jordan Tatum 3 “Superman” PE
In case you missed the moment, sneaker artist Mache Customs (@mache275) shared pictures of the unique kicks he cooked up for Tatum via his Instagram page.
The sneakers boast a striking blend of blue, red, and yellow inspired by the legendary DC hero’s signature outfit. Think predominantly blue uppers, with a touch of red at the ankle and heel that is somewhat reminiscent of Supes’ flowing cape. Yellow then decorates the sole unit and branding, with the classic Superman logo appearing at the toe area and on the right tongue.
Of course, sneakerheads will likely never see these custom Superman sneakers hit the mass market, but it’s still fun to imagine a world where we could see an official team-up between Tatum, Jordan Brand and DC Comics.
Jordan Tatum 3 Colourways Available For Purchase
Although a formal collaboration between Jordan Brand and DC Comics may not be on the cards anytime soon, there are plenty of other Jordan Tatum 3 colourways available right now on Nike.com, ranging from a flamboyant “Pink” offering to a minimalist “Zen” design. Plus, there is also a primarily white “Tunnel Walk” iteration releasing soon that would be ideal for customising into a Superman colourway or just using it as is.
