By now, we already have a good idea of what to expect from Jordan Brand’s 2025 player-exclusive offerings, with this year’s Air Jordan 4 designs closely following the styling of the pairs made especially for WNBA athletes in 2024. Yet, despite this predictability, we still manage to be taken aback by the colourways that continue to surface, and the Air Jordan 4 PE designed for Marquette University’s women’s basketball team is no different.
A Closer Look At The Sneaker
For Marquette’s design, Jordan Brand opted to forgo the school’s signature blue hue and play into the team’s dominant yellowish-gold colour instead.
A buttery yellow nubuck covers the uppers, while the heel tab, tongue, and mudguard all have textured leather that offers a tonal look. The pair also receives its signature gold touches courtesy of “MU” lace dubraes and hang tags, as well as metallic gold Jumpman on the tongue and heel. Not to forget the little diamond basketballs that are incorporated into said logos.
There’s no denying that the AJ4 looks pretty fantastic dressed in this light colour scheme; we only wish we would see a wider release of the stylish shoe.
Is The Marquette University Air Jordan 4 PE Going To Be Available For Purchase?
Sadly, this AJ4 colourway will not be made available to the general public. Much like other PEs in the series, including the UCLA Bruins, “UNC” and Howard University designs, just a few pairs were created for the players and faculty at the esteemed university. But we can still hope that we will eventually find a pair or two on the secondhand market one day.
While we may not be able to get our hands on the Marquette Air Jordan 4 PE, there’s still plenty of Jordan 4s to look forward to this year. Keep an eye out for other pairs that will be hitting retail shelves, including the Air Jordan 4 ‘Forget Me Not,’ Air Jordan 4 ‘Denim, ‘ and possibly a blue colourway of Nigel Sylvester’s Air Jordan 4 collab. And remember to stay tuned to Sneaker Fortress for more on these drops and more.
