Since the debut of the first movie within the Spider-Verse in 2018, the world has been taken by the beautiful and unique art style chosen to bring the vision to life. Combining many art styles and a comic book-like appearance, bright colours, blurs, and 3D effects bring the beautiful world to life. While we have covered plenty of Spider-Man sneakers that highlight characters in the universe, we have never looked at a pair that highlights the details of the world itself. Luckily for us, we have the Spider-Verse Air Jordan 1 “Look Up” sneaker.
Starting from the bottom, we see that the rubber outsole has been decorated with dark rubber, contrasted by a sail or bone-coloured midsole. The use of an aged-white colour rather than just plain white is a great one that gives the sneakers a somewhat vintage look that works perfectly with the textile nature of the rest.
Speaking of the textile of the upper, each piece of the upper is an entirely different textile, each one bringing to life the beautiful elements that make up the stunning worlds of the Spider-Verse. With a combination of textures and bright and muted colours, it perfectly represents the Spider-Verse.

Starting at the front of the sneaker, we see that the mudguard has been constructed from no less than three different textiles: a purple with corduroy-like stripes, a blue woven fabric that has yellow decorative stitching going through it, and another one with a grey base that has woven elements like yellow, red and blue included in the weave.
The toe box has been constructed of similar textiles, this time choosing to forego the usual perforations for breathability, which is likely allowed because the sneakers aren’t made of leather. The toe box is a pink textile that swaps the yellow stitching on the mudguard for red, shares some blue elements, and extends the purple with a touch of pink over the front of the sneaker.
The lower lace stays almost denim-like with blue and red elements, bringing the classic Spider-Man suit colours into the mix.

The quarter of the sneakers is another stunning woven textile with a grey base and black spots that peak through, thanks to the woven nature. The collar section is the opposite, with a black base contrasted by white. The middle lace continues the monochromatic moment with a white textile with woven black stripes.
The heel section is where the fun comes into the sneaker, with the heel counter appearing a deep blue with woven elements that include yellow and red. This part of the sneaker brings the Spider-Verse and inter-dimensional travel to mind. The collar area is decorated with pink glittery spandex that perfectly tops off the sneaker.
Besides the red branding of the Jumpman logo on the tongue label, the accents of the sneaker are all black, including the laces, the Nike Air Jordan Wings logo on the collar, and the Nike Swoosh logo. The Swoosh is a furry textile that combines shagginess with a diagonal striped pattern in the fur for an extra element of intrigue.
I would love to give you a release date for these sneakers. Still, they remain only a concept sneaker that our fantastic designers have worked tirelessly to design. While they are a magnificent concept, it does not mean that they aren’t physical sneakers. Stay tuned to see if we can bring these beautiful sneakers to life sometime.
