This December marks 30 years since the launch of the original PlayStation console back in 1994. And while sneaker lovers have already enjoyed a collection of Puma sneakers to celebrate the anniversary, the excitement would undoubtedly elevate if Nike were to join forces with PlayStation once more for a special edition release- especially one featuring the iconic Air Jordan line. Although there’s nothing on the cards just yet, sneaker designer Javornie Brathwaite, known as @jsbthecreator, has teased us with an exciting Playstation x Air Jordan 5 concept.
A Closer Look At The Sneaker
The design clearly draws inspiration from the classic PlayStation 5 colour palette. However, Brathwaite chooses sail-coloured leather for the upper instead of stark white, and it makes a world of difference.
You’ll also spot black accents throughout the sneaker’s design, from the plush tongue and inner lining to the “PSP” branding details and midsole.
Enhancing the distinct look are luminous blue accents on the tongues, lace toggles, the signature shark teeth, and even the side netting. You’ll also find the PlayStation’s “x” and “o” button icons subtly woven into the netting design.
To top it all off, the sneakers boast a translucent outsole with the PlayStation logo visible underneath, rounding off a design that no gaming fan could easily overlook.
Is The Playstation 5 x Air Jordan 5 Available For Purchase?
As of now, this design remains a concept. However, if you fancy a similar Playstation-inspired creation, you can reach out to him for a bespoke design through his website. The cost will vary depending on the time, materials, and effort required.
