Things Get Fuzzy with the adidas Mad IIInfinity “Dark Brown”

adidas has been making waves with two of the classics from its Originals archives – the Gazelle and the Samba. This year has also seen the return of another of its classics, this time from its basketball collection. The IIInfinity has been making waves recently with the release of two variants, the adidas Crazy IIInfinity and the Mad IIInfinity. The latter sees yet another refresh with the adidas Mad IIInfinity “Dark Brown”, this time with a fuzzy take on its upper.

The adidas Mad IIInfinity encompasses the spirit of the early 2000s basketball sneaker. Born in the same era as the OG adidas Kobe, it features a chunky design. The Kobe is also set to return in 2025 as the adidas Kobe 2.

Updated for the modern sneakerhead, the adidas Mad IIInfinity refreshes an iconic era in style and sport with a much more futuristic aesthetic. Its mixed material upper and layered construction make its bold cues stand out wherever you go.

The upper is crafted in a mix of fuzzy suede and faux leather panelling, with a textile lining delivered in tonal overlays that embody an otherworldly silhouette. Its thick TPU midsole is the epitome of the chunky sneaker but is designed for all-day comfort, whether you’re exploring the city streets or relaxing in style.

Its brown colour palette may be somewhat conservative and a representation of a more traditional look, but its tonal breakdown creates futuristic undertones that really bring the sneaker to life. Paired with its unconventional shape and chunky midsole, it fits the build of a futuristic boot, ready to take to the skies as we visit other planets.

We’ve previously seen the Mad IIInfinity in an all-over white variant. Although a more modest colourway, it may have still not been the easiest sneaker to be paired with your fit, and the fuzzy tonal brown and chunky design may not lend itself to make this any easier.
