Fans of the beloved Merc with a Mouth are bringing him to life through some awe-inspiring designs, and the “Deadpool” Air Jordan 4 is a prime example of this artistic expression through the art form we adore most: custom sneakers.
A Closer Look At The Sneaker
The genius behind this concept, Andrew Chiou (@andu.c), has crafted a striking colourway that captures the essence of Deadpool’s iconic red and black suit. However, Chiou’s unique touch comes through with vintage-esque muted tones, adding a fresh twist to the look.
The vibrant red suede dominates the design, accented by black detailing on the mudguard, wing tabs, and heel. Then, to give the sneakers that just-jumped-out-of-combat vibe, Chiou incorporated a weathered finish that imparts a rugged, well-worn feel.
Further embracing the Deadpool theme, dark brown eyelets and laces evoke the look of his utility belt, while the removed netting on the sides makes us think of the anti-hero’s mask. The finishing touch is a black midsole with a hint of white towards the forefoot, subtly mimicking the appearance of the eyes on Deadpool’s mask.
