A Closer Look At The Design
While many dismissed these sneakers due to the poppy-covered material on the upper—a creative nod to the film’s scene where Dorothy and the Cowardly Lion fall asleep in a field of poppies—it turns out that this layer can be peeled back to reveal ruby red leather underneath.
Other references to the classic film include The Wizard of Oz branding on the tongue tags, Dorothy’s unforgettable “There’s No Place Like Home” quote on the heels, and graphic insoles displaying the Wicked Witch of the West and her flying monkey spying into her crystal ball.
The design is completed with the same floral graphic on the midsole and a bold red rubber outsole, presenting yet another unique rendition of the beloved Nike SB Dunk silhouette.
