adidas Sportswear has released a number of new silhouettes in recent weeks, which have been designed with style in mind. While the shoes remain focused on their sporty nature, a touch of fashion doesn’t hurt. Adding to the recent drops like the latest adidas EQT collection and the adidas Aruku, the brand has continued this trend with the adidas Lightblaze.

Unlike the two examples mentioned, the Lightblaze collection marks a new era for adidas Sportswear – this being its first model from the new line. It has been “born from sport and worn for style.” The range highlights its quintessential adidas DNA while providing a versatile range delivering all-day comfort on your feet. adidas Lightblaze redefines the boundaries between athletic performance and fashion-forward style.

Built to support wearers who are always busy, on the go, or have fairly active lifestyles, the Lightblaze taps into a mix of comfort and style. With its monochromatic palette, it features a minimalist design. Added to the design is the complementary bold three-stripe branding on the outer foot to give it that no-fuss look. The upper features a mix of various overlays and materials, providing a contrasting suede, leather and mesh finish.

Comfort is the key for the Lightblaze. As such, it includes adidas’ leading performance technologies. This includes a full-length Lightstrike midsole we’ve encountered on previous adidas runners such as the record-breaking Azizero range. The resilient and responsive foam provides 360° lightweight cushioning, which is able to provide faster movements and change of direction, making it ideal for longer days on your feet. it is combined with the full-length rubber outsole that provides maximum grip and durability to tackle all terrains and weather.

There are two variants of the Lightblaze – one for men and another for women. Both of these also have two colourways. For the men, this includes the Alumina/Core Black/Cloud White and Core Black/Grey Two/Grey Six. For the women, the colour variants include Alumina/Silver Metallic/Core Black and Core Black/Silver Metallic/Grey Six

Personally, I prefer the more minimalist approach of the women’s variant, which still has a bold finish with the large contrasting stripes across the toe box to the later sides. In addition to the first two silhouettes dropping this weekend, additional silhouettes and colourways are set to drop throughout 2025.

Join the Lightblaze family to transcend your active lifestyle with this must-have sneaker for everyday movement. The adidas Lightblaze is available online adidas.co.za/sportswear, via the adidas app, and across all adidas stores.
