The Air Jordan 11 ‘Black/Barely Volt’ Is Basically a Joker Sneaker – And It’s Wild

Speculative Mockups by House of Heat

Update August 15, 2025: First-look images of the Jordan 11 “Black/Barely Volt” (a.k.a. the “Sneaker School” Jordan 11s) have arrived. Unlike the initial speculative mockups, the design sports a white midsole and what looks to be textured velvet on the mudguard. The shoe is capped off with a glow-in-the-dark outsole below as well as a “Barely Volt” Jumpman logo set over claw-like detailing at the ankle. Expect these to arrive in Holiday 2025, and check out the first-look images below.

Original Article: Jordan Brand is going all out to celebrate the Air Jordan 11’s 30th anniversary this year. So far, four speculated drops are already lined up for the holiday season alone, including highly awaited pairs like the “Rare Air” and “Gamma” styles. But there’s more up the Jumpman’s sleeve for the holiday season, with another “Black/Barely Volt” Jordan 11 colourway set to drop late this year.

A Closer Look At The Sneaker

According to sneaker insiders Sneaker Market RO, the Jumpman Label is getting ready to release yet another brand-new Air Jordan 11 colourway this year. While exact design details and colour blocking have yet to be unveiled, the sneakers’ Black, Barely Volt, and Dark Raisin palette has already sparked comparisons to one of DC’s most notorious villains, The Joker.

This isn’t the first time Nike or the Jordan brand has dressed up their sneakers in green and purple to mimic the legendary comic book character’s signature style; consider the Kobe 5 “Joker” from 2009 or the “Joker” Air Jordan 1s launched in 2013 as a few coveted examples. Yet, this will be the first time we see this specific blend on an AJ 11, so the hype is well justified.

Of course, the pictures below are just speculative at this time, so what we can expect from the finished design may not be exactly the same as what is displayed here. Still, this is a shoe release worth keeping an eye on as more information becomes available.

Air Jordan 11 “Black/Barely Volt” Release Details

As of now, the AJ11 is set to be released exclusively on Nike.com and select stores during the Holiday 2025 season. However, retailers have only confirmed a release in grade-school sizes, with no adult sizing yet for the pair.

While we wait to see if this upcoming drop will be available in a broader size range, be sure to check out the Air Jordan 11 “Coldest In The Game” and other 2025 releases. And rememebr to follow us here at Sneaker Fortress for more sneaker drops and reviews.
