Jordan Brand is going all in this Holiday season. They have prepared an astonishing lineup of releases for us, spanning from October to December. It’s definitely going to be quite the challenge of settling on just one choice from the impressive list. But while we are still mourning the absence of the anticipated “Black Cat” colourway (let’s have a moment of silence), a delightful surprise has been unveiled in the form of the Air Jordan 6 “Bred.

Is the New “Bred” Colourway Based on the AJ 6 “Black/Infrared”?

No official images are available for the upcoming Air Jordan 6 “Bred” release. However, sneaker insiders at Sole Retriever have shared a trickle of details regarding the expected colourway as well as mock-up images that hint at what these kicks might look like.

Based on the details, the Air Jordan 6 “Bred” will flaunt shades of “Black,” “Fire Red,” and “Iron Grey”. And if the mock-up images are anything to go by, this combo of colours might remind you of the much-loved “Black/Infrared” colourway of the 1991 model or even its “Varsity Red” colourway from 2010.

Of course, this fresh take on the colour scheme doesn’t completely replicate the renowned “Black/Infrared” Air Jordan 6 – the very one in which Michael Jordan seized his initial NBA championship – or even the slightly less iconic “Varsity Red” version (which is merely a varied shade of red with a different choice of materials. You can check out a comparison here). Instead, the updated shade of red and the introduction of “Iron Grey” add a fresh spin to the new iteration. But really, you can’t go wrong with the classic “Black” and “Red” colourway – even with another colour added into the mix.

The Air Jordan 6 “Bred”: A Closer Look

The combination of “Black,” “Fire Red,” and “Iron Grey” is certainly enticing. The colour scheme also lends itself to numerous different colour-blocking options. However, for this particular design concept, most of the Jordan 6 is draped in velvety black Durabuck, with the tongue and pull tabs reflecting the same dark tone.

To add a touch of vibrancy to the upper, key features of the shoe, such as the prominently placed Jumpman logo on the lace cover and lace lock, as well as the intricate detailing on the spoiler, are all accentuated in the striking “Fire Red”.

Capping off this striking design are a “Fire Red” and “Iron Grey” midsole, teamed with a black rubber outsole. There’s also a bit of intrigue with the addition of translucent sections on the outsole, revealing the Air cushioning tech hidden within.

Even though this blend of hues and textures paints a sophisticated and contemporary aesthetic for the AJ 6 colourway, it ultimately remains a speculative concept. If you’re hoping to have a glimpse of the final product Jordan Brand has in the pipeline, we’ll have to wait for official pictures or possible early leaks from trusted sources.

Release Details for the Stylish Pair

Sneaker enthusiasts of all ages can look forward to the release of the Air Jordan 6 “Bred” as these kicks are set to drop in full-family sizing during the Holiday 2024 season. The retail price is set at $200 for men, $150 for Big Kids, $90 for Little Kids, and $75 for Toddlers, all of which should be available to purchase through Nike.com and select Jordan retailers.

So, if you are intrigued by these speculative mock-ups and want to know more about this release, stay tuned for updates and official images. Until then, you can follow us for more sneaker drops and reviews.
