“Betelgeuse, Betelgeuse, Betelgeuse”! The anticipation is finally over for fans who have been waiting since 1988 to hear those magic words again. While it might feel like it’s been “an eternity,” the sequel to the cult classic “Beetlejuice” is slated to hit the big screen in 2024, and if the trailer is any indication, everyone’s favourite ghost with the most is back in all his eerie splendour. To commemorate this much-anticipated return, let’s look back at the Air Jordan 1 “Beetlejuice” sneaker—a perfect homage to the cult classic film.

Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice!

Anyone who’s seen Tim Burton’s cult classic knows it’s a mind-bending journey steeped in his signature visual flair. You’re in for a blend of the eerie, the comedic, and a hefty dose of creativity, all rolled into one unforgettable cinematic ride. And judging by the trailer, the sequel promises to match, if not exceed, the original’s quirky and distinctive charm.

This time around, we’re thrilled about fresh faces like Monica Bellucci, who portrays Beetlejuice’s wife, and Willem Dafoe, who slips into the role of an afterlife detective, while Danny DeVito’s cameo as a ghost janitor gives us the Batman Returns reunion we never knew we needed.

But what truly has fans over the moon is the comeback of beloved characters like Lydia (Winona Ryder), the iconic Sandworm, and, of course, Betelgeuse (or Beetlejuice). We couldn’t resist reviving one of our previous sneaker concepts to mark the return of these cherished figures. So, let’s give a nod to the past while celebrating this iconic film’s return to the screen.

A Closer Look at the Sneaker Design

Beetlejuice Jordan Sneaker

This unique sneaker draws direct inspiration from the foul-mouthed, shape-shifting ghoul Beetlejuice, with his iconic suit taking centre stage.

The pinstriped overlays are a homage to his suit from the first film and the beloved animated series—a look that fans will once again enjoy in the sequel.

The midfoot flap, heel counter, and ankle flap are adorned in a deep purple shade, mirroring the character’s dramatic dark eye makeup.

Adding to the ghastly theme, touches of mouldy green grace the laces, midsole trim, and side swoosh, further embedding the mischievous spirit of Beetlejuice into the design. Plus, the check logos showcase an intriguing repetitive pattern detailing combining miniature skulls with the beloved character’s name.

To round off the look, a stripey black and purple sole unit provides the perfect finish, tying the entire quirky design together. This Air Jordan 1 definitely captures the essence of Beetlejuice.

How Can I Get an Air Jordan 1 Beetlejuice Sneaker?

Although the Air Jordan 1 Beetlejuice sneaker remains but a concept inspired by our passion for both the iconic film and stylish Jordan sneakers, you can still recreate this ghoulish design on your own pair of AJ1s. With a touch of Angelus Direct paint and a smidge of effort, you’ll be all set to watch the eagerly anticipated sequel on 6th September 2024 in style.

While you wait, why not explore these stunning Nike Dunk High kicks inspired by another Tim Burton classic, Oogey Boogie, or perhaps these Jack Skellington and Sally Dunks? Don’t forget to stay tuned with us at Sneaker Fortress for more exciting customs and concepts.
