In Dexter’s laboratory lives the coolest Nike Dunk Low sneaker you’ve ever seen! Designed by @dope_done_designs, this Nike Dunk Low gives a nostalgic nod to one of the most iconic cartoons of the 90s – Dexter’s Laboratory.

Inspired by the Cartoon Network classic, 28-year-old artist @dope_done_designs created a sneaker concept that pays homage to the brilliant boy genius known for his wild inventions and scientific experiments that never manage to go as planned.

For those who may not already know, Dexter’s Laboratory was a popular animated series that aired from 1996 to 2003. The show followed the adventures of Dexter, a young prodigy with a secret laboratory hidden behind his bookshelf. Unfortunately for Dexter, his lab isn’t really much of a secret, as his annoying older sister Dee Dee always manages to find her way in and wreak havoc. Let’s not forget his arch-nemesis, Mandark, who constantly tries to outdo Dexter and prove himself as the superior genius. Despite all the chaos and setbacks, the young scientist remained determined to protect his laboratory and continue his scientific experiments, all while donning his signature white lab coat, purple gloves, and thick-framed glasses.

Dexter's Laboratory

Taking its cues from the outfit worn by the red-haired genius, the Nike Dunk Low sneaker features a vibrant combination of colours. The upper is adorned with a mix of white and purple, representing Dexter’s signature lab coat and gloves. At the same time, the shoe’s inner lining takes on an orange hue as a nod to the colour of the beloved character’s hair. The midsole showcases a flesh pink hue, reminiscent of Dexter’s pale complexion. The laces also take on the flesh hue giving a cohesive look to the overall design.

To add a touch of quirkiness to the sneaker, a small conical flask filled with green liquid is included on the shoe’s lateral side. The flask also has two tiny green bubbles floating above it, giving the illusion of a scientific experiment in progress.

The Nike Swoosh appears in a light blue shade with a thick black rim paying homage to Dexter’s iconic glasses. Completing the design, the tongue of the sneaker is adorned with a label that reads Dexter’s laboratory in the show’s original font. This playful detail adds an extra layer of nostalgia for fans of the beloved cartoon series.

Dexter's Laboratory

Overall, the Dexter’s Laboratory x Nike concept sneaker by @dope_don_designs perfectly captures the tiny genius and quirky spirit of the show. The attention to detail in the design is remarkable, with every element carefully chosen to reflect the beloved character. I am sure even the infamous shoe gnomes in season 2 would be impressed by the craftsmanship of this design.

While this sneaker is only a concept, feel free to buy a pair of white Nike Dunk Low sneakers and customise them to create your own Dexter’s Laboratory-inspired design. With some creativity and artistic skills, you can transform a plain pair of sneakers into a unique homage to the show.
