PUMA uses science to revolutionise running with the running shoe, going full sci-fi with the PUMA Fast-R NITRO Elite 3. This highly anticipated runner was engineered to help you reach your personal best.
With the original Fast-R Nitro Elite released a few years ago, much to the amazement and scepticism of the running community, the running shoe is now in its third iteration, proving its success. Thanks to its state-of-the-art technology and cutting-edge design, the shoe is designed to provide runners with the most optimal rate of efficiency, enabling them to shave time off their personal best and break new race-day records.
The Fast-R Nitro Elite 3 continues where the Elite 2 left off. Weighing in at 95g lighter than its predecessor, it already sets the tone on efficiency, keeping that weight off your ankles. Its decoupled midsole has also been upgraded with the new NITROFOAM ELITE compound to deliver next-level cushioning and responsiveness.
The restructured PWRPLATE aids your running with its unrivalled propulsion. This is extended all the way through the forefoot past the toe and revealed on the front as part of its iconic design from the previous iteration. As such, it delivers both performance as well as aiding your run.
Next is the upper. Crafted in a breathable yet premium and lightweight ULTRAWEAVE, it ensures comfort throughout your race day. Additionally, the PUMAGRIP outsole provides excellent traction on any surface, ensuring the best progress from start to finish to keep that personal best (PB) in sight.
If you’re looking for slightly more specifications on the shoe, here’s a quick rundown on what to expect:
- Weight: 170g
- Stack Height: 40mm/32mm
- Drop: 8mm
- Product Lifespan: 300km (200mi)
The PUMA Fast-R NITRO Elite 3 made its public debut at the Boston Marathon. It will make another public appearance at the London Marathon. The shoe will then be available for sale from PUMA.com, as well as stores at PUMA V&A Waterfront and Sandton from 4 May 2025.
