Part of the allure of the festive season is all the special sneaker releases that come out this time of the year. While Nike and Jordan Brand have had a few notable holiday drops for sneakerheads to look forward to this December, such as the “Legend Blue” Air Jordan 11 and the “Wizard of OZ” Nike SB Dunk Low, there’s also a lot of excitement brewing in the custom sneaker world. Customisers like John Trottier of @johnnyskicks_ have been busy producing one-of-a-kind holiday-themed designs, like the “Holiday Bear” Air Jordan 1 High, which puts a fun and festive spin on a famous Nike design from 2020.

A Closer Look At The Design

Many people will instantly connect the style of these Air Jordan 1 sneakers with the Grateful Dead Bears Dunks from 2020, thanks to their fuzzy base, suede overlays, and unmistakable jagged Swooshes. However, Trottier’s “Holiday Bear” design features a more festive colour palette, with one pair dressed in snow white with bright red trimmings, while the other design adopts the inverse style.

Other elements that distinguish these sneakers include the Grateful Dead Bears resting atop the Nike Swoosh on the tongue label and a Christmas tree stitched on the heel tabs. From the colourways to the fuzzy fabrics and even the festive details, these kicks would be the perfect pair to find under the Christmas tree this year.
