This custom Louis Vuitton x Air Jordan 1 "Classic" embraces a "less is more" philosophy with its subtle use of LV's monogrammed leather.

You don’t have to delve too far to stumble upon a sneaker artist’s vision of a Louis Vuitton x Air Jordan 1 collaboration. The internet is replete with customs and concepts of the iconic ’80s basketball shoe draped in Louis Vuitton’s signature monogram print from heel to toe. Yet, Clément Petit of Small Customs has set himself apart with a truly distinctive design, one that may just become a new favourite.

A Closer Look At The Sneaker

Clément has embraced a “less is more” philosophy for his take on the Louis Vuitton x Air Jordan 1 creation. Rather than enveloping the sneaker in LV’s iconic monogrammed leather, he chooses a more subtle and balanced aesthetic. The designer uses monogrammed tarpaulin from a vintage bag solely on the ankle flaps of the Air Jordan 1 and leaves the rest of the shoe unembellished.

The remainder of the design boasts a sleek white leather base, complemented by light brown leather on the toe and heel. A roughly textured tan suede strip extends from the eyestays to the heel, adding to the understated sophistication.

Nods to Virgil Abloh and Off-White are then evident in the chocolate brown deconstructed Swooshes attached with yellow thread and tiny gold LV buttons that match the gold aglets on the laces. The design is completed with a white midsole and a brown rubber outsole. This approach brings a harmonious blend of both brands’ aesthetics,

Although it diverges significantly from the usual Louis Vuitton customs we see, it could represent a more authentic blend of both brands’ aesthetics. It’s possibly the closest to what an official LV and Jordan collaboration might offer.

Is The Louis Vuitton x Air Jordan 1 “Classic” Available For Purchase?

Unfortunately, this is the part where we have to inform you that this stunning design was a one-of-a-kind creation made for one of Clément Petit’s clients. However, if you’re interested in a similar design, you can reach out to the custom sneaker artist on Instagram at @small.custom or email him at contact.smallcustom@gmail.com.
