The Chef just keeps cooking up unique sneaker designs. While we are used to seeing his Nike, Off-White and Dunk designs, back in 2022, the influential designer created some of the most gorgeous sneakers he has ever made. It’s about time the stunning pair got a moment in the spotlight again, so let’s look at the gorgeous Custom Louis Vuitton Trainer “Virgil Was Here” sneakers.

Let’s get one thing straight. Chef Huyle was a genius for custom crafting this gorgeous pair of LV Trainer Sneakers because you can’t go wrong when you start off with a pair as fabulous as these.

Louis Vuitton’s Italy-made sneakers are timeless. Initially inspired by vintage basketball sneakers, the pair epitomises lifestyle, as it is hardly a par that you can imagine actually wearing on the courts.

Crafted from smooth and grained calf leather, the upper takes no less than seven hours to stitch a single pair, giving you some idea as to why these gorgeous sneakers come with the price tag they do.

While you also pay for the incredible craftsmanship and materials of these sneakers, you also pay for the brand, so it makes sense that the sneakers wear their branding loud and proud. Examples of their branding start with Virgil Abloh’s handwritten LV signature, which is embossed on the lateral profile of the sneakers.

Following that, the “#54” proudly displayed on the spine of the sneakers stands for 1854, the year that the influential and luxurious fashion house was first founded.

LV initials are displayed on the tongue and sides of the sneakers near the front. The outsole and midsole also both display the gorgeous motifs of the LV monogram flower, with the former displaying it in the centre of a disk under the forefoot and the latter indented into the side of the rubber midsole.

Chef Huyle

@chefhuyle expertly customised these sneakers in 2022 to have a gorgeous sunset-inspired theme, naming them “Virgil Was Here” as a tribute to the fantastic Louis Vuitton designer Virgil Abloh.

Taking inspiration from Louis Vuitton’s Men’s FW20 Fashion Show, with its gorgeous cloudy blue sky and archway sunset display, the sneakers follow a similar colour palette with their gradient.

The sneakers’ transition from soft orange to light blue is undeniably gorgeous, and the insole follows the same pattern of transition.

What We Like About Them

What isn’t to like about them? The sneakers are a gorgeous tribute to Virgil Abloh’s vision and artistic prowess, building off an already fantastic pair of luxury sneakers to make a one-of-a-kind custom pair that is more akin to a work of art than something you would strut around town in.

While plenty of Chef Huyle’s work deserves to be displayed in a museum or art gallery, this pair, in particular, would be the perfect centrepiece of any display. This is the kind of pair that, if you ever managed to get your hands on it, would never leave the house, let alone touch the ground.
