Magneto just got a costume upgrade, and it’s not purple. San Diego Comic-Con 2026 gave fans their first real look at Ian McKellen’s Avengers: Doomsday Magneto, and the new suit leans almost entirely red. That’s a twist for House of Heat’s Air Jordan 6 “Magneto” concept — a fan design, not an official release — which bet on purple.
The Air Jordan 6 “Magneto” Concept, Explained
Let’s be honest. There are few things we love more than a sneaker collab inspired by our favourite superheroes. Marvel fans went gaga over the PUMA x Fantastic Four blind box releases earlier this year (has anybody even seen the actual sneakers yet?). Let’s not forget the Kith x Asics “Marvel Super Villains” pack that dropped last year. The latter release featured a number of the most iconic villains from the Marvel universe, including none other than the master of magnetism himself, Magneto. Of course, we can’t help but imagine how these collabs could look on a classic Nike or Jordan silhouette. Luckily, House of Heat has delivered a fantastic concept of what a “Magneto”-inspired Air Jordan 6 would look like.
The concept leans more into the purple hues of the villain’s comic book costume, with the colour encompassing the entire Durabuck upper as well as the tongue tabs, heel tabs, and shroud. Hints of red then appear on accent details, such as the branding, heel tab, and midsole, reminiscent of its placement on releases like the “Black Infrared” and “Toro Red” Jordan 6s (minus the red uppers, of course).
The Design Details Behind the Concept

The red colour is also carried through to the stitching for a cool contrast detail, while House of Heat completed the Air Jordan 6 “Magneto” design with a milky white semi-translucent outsole to symbolise his power of electromagnetic manipulation.
The villain can generate and control the whole electromagnetic spectrum. This basically means that he can harness and manipulate all types of electromagnetic energy, allowing him to create force fields, control anything metal or with metal in it (including the iron in human blood), and even generate powerful electromagnetic pulses.
The pulses are often shown as crackling white light shooting from his hands, which is why the milky white semi-translucent outsole on these concept sneakers is a perfect choice.
Could This Ever Become a Real Jordan Release?
Sadly, we’ll probably never get to see these cool Air Jordan 6 “Magneto” kicks brought to life (at least not by Jordan Brand themselves). However, a collab with a major footwear brand could be coming real soon, especially with some original X-Men characters reportedly joining the Avengers: Doomsday film in 2026. Wouldn’t that be something?
Red vs. Purple: How the Two Looks Compare

McKellen’s on-screen costume flips the concept’s color ratio: a long, scraggly beard paired with an almost entirely red outfit, versus the sneaker’s purple-dominant upper with red used only as an accent. Same character, two different color stories right now.
A Real Jordan 6 Alternative
Want something wearable today? The Air Jordan 6 “Reverse Infrared” (Black/Light Crimson) is the closest real match to Magneto’s new red costume. On the purple side, the Air Jordan 4 OG “Lakers” (Imperial Purple/Multi-Color) is part of Jordan Brand’s 2026 lineup. Neither is a Magneto collab — just the closest shelf-available analogs.
Avengers: Doomsday hits theaters December 18, 2026.
