Yep, you’ve guessed it. The already impressive lineup of holiday sneaker’s is expanding even more. The sneaker community will be spoiled for choice this festive season as more gorgeous Nike and Jordan sneakers are lining up for release. However, stealing the spotlight- even if only for a short while- is the remarkable Nike Air Flightposite “Metallic Gold,” preparing for its grand re-entry during the period spanning from October to December.

The beautiful “Metallic Gold” version of the Flightposite made its last appearance on the sneaker landscape way back in 2008. Since then, the colourway has only been found in the resale market, making sneaker enthusiasts pay upwards of a hefty $685 USD to own this stunning pair of kicks. However, given the limited availability of the colourway and the cult status of the Nike Air Flightposite itself, its high demand is no shock. Of course this demand goes all the way back to when this model designed by the genius Eric Avar first hit the market in 1999.

When the Nike Air Flightposite was first released in the late 90s, it became the darling of basketball players and sneaker enthusiasts. Legends like Kevin Garnett, Allan Houston, and Tim Duncan only served to amplify its charm by rocking its stylish silhouette on the courts. To add the cherry on top, the sneaker even made a noteworthy Hollywood debut.

The striking Nike Air Flightposite made its cinematic appearance on the feet of the infamous Green Goblin, portrayed by Willem Dafoe, in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 2002. The sneakers’ exceptional design perfectly suited the character’s cutting-edge, hi-tech persona.

With its distinctive futuristic charm, the Nike Air Flightposite set itself apart from other basketball shoes of its time. This was much thanks to its sleek silhouette and innovative materials.

For those who may not know, the concept for the shell-like design came from anatomical drawings, reflecting the intricate patterns of muscle fibres and tissues. But, enough about the past, let’s refocus on what’s in store for us – the revival of the much-loved “Metallic Gold” colourway.

The colourway makes its return, featuring the same exquisite blend of “Black,” “Metallic Gold,” and “Metallic Silver. ” The robust shell upper is covered in the beautiful golden shade. However, despite the overall gold look, the shoe has a hint of iridescence, giving it a somewhat otherworldly touch.

The signature “Black” neoprene sock liner and laces offer a classy contrast against the metallic gold hue. Of course, the laces remain concealed, thanks to the Flightposite’s innovative, full-length zipper closure system, which ensures ease of wear while adding a cool, futuristic look.

Among the sneaker’s many stunning features, you’ll notice the Swoosh logos embroidered onto the sock liner, tongue patches, and heel. The design concludes with a “Black” rubber outsole and a striking “Metallic Silver” carbon fibre shank plate, elevating these sneakers’ overall aesthetics, durability, and support.

So, if you’re as ecstatic as we are for the comeback of Nike Air Flightposite “Metallic Gold”, gear up for its retro release in Holiday 2024. These kicks will be available for purchase on Nike.com and select Nike retailers at a price of $240 USD in men’s sizes.
