Nike loves pushing the boundaries of what a sneaker can be. Sometimes it works (think of the Air Max 1 Golf NRG “Grass”, which literally looked like a patch of turf), and sometimes it leaves sneakerheads asking, “what were they thinking?” The upcoming Nike Air Force 1 Low Leaf Camo definitely falls into that second category for a lot of people, but it’s also one of the most creative takes on the iconic silhouette we’ve seen in years.
More than four decades after the Air Force 1 first hit stores, Nike is still finding ways to keep it fresh. This fall, the brand has decided to lean all the way into the season with a sneaker that could double as actual camouflage. The Air Force 1 Low Leaf Camo features a removable shroud covered in bright red and yellow leaves, designed to mimic the look of a freshly raked pile. The textured piece attaches to the sneaker via the laces, so you can wear it loud and proud or strip it down to reveal the layered autumn tones underneath.
Remove the shroud, and you’ll find a two-tone brown upper done in shaggy suede, a nod to dead grass in the cooler months. The Swoosh and mustache are finished in cream leather, the tongue comes in a deep forest green, and a solid brown sole ties the whole look together. Whether you’re raking leaves or just trying to look like you did, this pair has you covered.

Nike’s been having fun with the Air Force 1 this year. The .Swoosh division dropped the Dirty Triple White and Dirty Triple Black—distressed sneakers that look cleaner the more you wear them as the thin grime layer wears off. Several Kobe Bryant-inspired editions have already landed in 2025, and more premium fall-ready versions of the classic Triple White and Triple Black are on the way. But nothing this year is as out-there as the Leaf Camo.
Not everyone’s sold on the idea, however. “How you gonna find these when you’re outside raking leaves and fall down?” one Facebook user joked. “They was off the leaf when they made these,” wrote another. Someone else added, “They just down there doing anything. 1st new dirty shoes now this.” And of course, the ultimate question: “Do they come with a rake?”
The Nike Air Force 1 Low Leaf Camo is expected to release later in 2025, likely through the Snkrs app and select retailers, with a retail price of $130. Love it or hate it, it’s another reminder that Nike isn’t afraid to get weird with one of its most legendary sneakers.
