Since Borderlands first hit the gaming world in 2009, the 2K game developed by Gearbox Software, the crazy, action role-playing first-person shooter has had a chokehold on society. With many games and spin-off games like Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, 2024 marks the franchise’s entry onto the big screen. We created this beautiful concept pack, the Air Jordan 3 x Borderlands sneakers, to celebrate the occasion.
Air Jordan 3 x Borderlands: Fresh Off The Bus
If you know the games and watch the new trailer that was just released, you’ll know that every journey starts on Pandora. This arid landscape houses The Vault, the most significant treasure cache in the known universe, starting on the bus.
When you are fresh off the bus, you are new and shiny, and your hair is perfectly slicked, and the Air Jordan 3 x Borderlands: Fresh Off The Bus reflects that. Clean, fresh, and white, the colourway includes semi-translucent clear rubber, plenty of crisp white, soft greys, charcoal black, bright red and, of course, a good representation of gold and even blue.
Of course, Vault Hunters, even when fresh off the bus, have one goal in mind: to find the Vault. That’s why the symbology of the Vault takes front and centre on the sneakers as the only notable feature on the upper overlays.
Air Jordan 3 x Borderlands: Experienced Vault Hunter
Once you have been on Pandora for a while, defending yourself from Psychos and all of the flora and fauna on the planet trying to off you, you will pick up a little bit of dirt along the way. The Air Jordan 3 x Borderlands: Experienced Vault Hunter reflects that. This pair’s colourway includes soft grey, dark blue, Pandora Sand, and still crisp white.
With watercolour smatterings of grey, tan, and blue across the entire sneaker, the same Vault symbol on the upper lace stays, but this time in the same golden Pandora Sand colour represented by the elephant print leather overlays on the sneaker.
The sneakers are excellent as a pair or as a pack, showing the journey of each Vault Hunter as they make their way through the arid landscape of Pandora, searching for the biggest score of the century.
Borderlands (2024)
The announcement trailer of Borderlands was just released, giving viewers a brief glimpse into the life of the Vault Hunters as they go on a journey that many of us have played through in the games. Cate Blanchett stars as the badass siren Lilith, Ariana Greenblatt steps into the role of everyone’s favourite nutter, Tiny Tina, Kevin Hart stands as Roland, Florian Munteanu as Krieg, and Jack Black voices Claptrap. Despite his weirdness and broken circuits, Claptrap is, without a doubt, the mascot of the Borderlands franchise, and there couldn’t be a better comedian out there to bring him to life than Jack Black. Other stars include Jamie Lee Curtis as Tannis, Gina Gershon as Moxxi, Edgar Ramirez as Atlas, Cheyenne Jackson as Jacobs, and Steven Boyer as our favourite mechanic, Scooter.
