Nike has been honouring several North American cities with special edition sneaker designs this year, ranging from a colourful “Atlanta” Air Max 95 design representing the city seal to the Dunk Low “Philly” with its nod to the city’s gritty culture and then another Air Max 95 design inspired by the layers of Toronto. However, to commemorate LA, the city of dreams, Nike is releasing a beautiful cloud-themed Dunk Low sneaker.
A Closer Look At The Sneaker
Throughout the years, Nike has often employed cloud-themed designs on its most popular silhouettes (just consider the Air Force 1 Low “Clouds Celestine Blue” and the Nike SB Dunk High “Clouds,” for instance). However, we especially appreciate how subtle the theme is on this Nike Dunk Low “LA” colourway.
Most of the design is dominated by a cream suede and canvas blend, but the quarter panel and tongue add some visual interest with their sky-blue gradient dip-dye effect. The “Nike” logo on the insole and heel and the “LA” graphic on the tongue then take the shape of clouds to emphasise the theme further. The side swooshes’ leaf-like pattern gives the overall design a unique touch while also creating some pleasant textural contrast. Finally, a translucent, milky sole unit completes the shoe.
I doubt we need to convince you to purchase these stunning kicks, but anyone who lives in the city of dreams ought to own a pair.
Nike Dunk Low “LA” Release Details
This special city-themed Nike Dunk Low is scheduled to be released on October 26, 2024. Sneakerheads can buy a pair for $125 USD on the Snkrs app and at select Nike retailers starting this Saturday.
