Teyana Taylor’s Air Jordan 3 “Concrete Rose” is probably the most talked about sneaker of 2026 so far. Not only because it carries Taylor’s name, but also because it’s very different from every other Jordan 3 that’s come before it. In fact, it’s so different that it’s actually split the sneaker community down the middle to: those who love it and those who absolutely hate it. There’s no middle ground here. You’re either waiting in anticipation for March 14, 2026, or you consider the design sacrilege.
Jordan Brand Teased Air Jordan 3 “Concrete Rose” In 2025 Already

The Air Jordan 3 “Concrete Rose” has been a long time coming. Although we only got an official look in 2026, news about the sneaker was circulating all the way back in mid-2025 already. Earlier mock-ups imagined a very different looking design – but incorporated many of the final elements we now see.
In January, however, Jordan Brand gave us our first tease of the sneaker on their @jumpman23 Instagram account. And it didn’t take long for the comments to start.
First Reactions On Instagram

One fan wrote, “Ohhh gotta get these. 3s are my favorite and my brand color scheme.” Another kept things simple: “Yikes!! I need these!” Someone else sounded like they were already bracing for disappointment come release day. “Ima b p**sed if I don’t own these.”
But not everyone was excited. Many people weren’t feeling the spiky laces and the red rose theme. Some even pointed out that the sneaker was made for fashion runways and not the streets.
The Story Behind The “Concrete Rose” Theme

Now, as we are days away from the release, official images of the Teyana Taylor x Air Jordan 3 “Concrete Rose” have surfaced. And it gives us a clear look at what we can expect. All the details are there. There’s no more guessing.

Teyana Taylor’s Harlem Roots Inspired The Air Jordan 3 “Concrete Rose” Design

Taylor, born in Harlem in 1990, built much of this sneaker’s rose and thorns theme around the idea of rising up from tough surroundings (hence the rose on the tongue amidst the spikey laces). Of course, we’ve seen this before. She did something similar earlier on with her 2023 Air Jordan 1 Zoom CMFT 2 “A Rose From Harlem” collab. The Jordan 3 continues that story – although with very different results this time around.
Fir Green Leather Covers The Upper Of The Sneaker

The design starts with a Fir green leather upper. From the toe box to the heel, the green color gives the sneaker a grounded look before the other “over-the-top” details.
The 3s Classic Elephant Print Is Gone

The Air Jordan 3 is known for its classic elephant print design. But that’s completely gone here. Instead, leather panels cover most of the upper, while Cement Gray tones appear underneath. It’s fitting for the rose theme.
Vines And Roses

Large green vine elements climb along the sides of the shoe, almost like plant stems wrapping around a wall. Teyana Taylor has mentioned that the laces can be clipped to give each sneaker a unique design.
A Red Rose On The Tongue

On the tongue, a red thorned fabric rose sits proudly where your eye lands first. But, apparently, it’s removable (with the Jordan logo under).
Gold Details

Metallic gold eyelets and a gold rose hangtag add contrast to the green upper.
A Concrete-Inspired Midsole

Beneath everything sits a midsole designed to look like cracked cement. It’s the whole “rose growing through concrete” idea. Below that, you’ll find a gum brown outsole.
NBA All-Star Weekend Gave Fans A Closer Look

Taylor recently showed the sneaker during NBA All-Star Weekend in Los Angeles. She appeared at the Jordan Brand House Of Greatness activation in Inglewood, where the space was filled with thousands of red roses to match the theme.
The event, called “No Thorns, No Rose,” framed the sneaker as part of a larger creative project.
A press release reads: “This collection represents the evolution and maturity of a woman and her relationship with love – shaped by resilience, growth, and the work put in. It’s a celebration of owning her greatness — of getting everything she wanted beyond the status quo, all while staying true to her roots.”
The Teyana Taylor x Air Jordan 3 “Concrete Rose” releases March 14, 2026 via Nike SNKRS and select Jordan Brand retailers.
