Talented sneaker artist Jordan Watkins (@customsbyj1) has created a pair of custom sneakers that brilliantly blend icy sweeps of glacier blue with whispers of white, leading to a captivating “Glacier” aesthetic. However, it’s not just the perfectly curated colour palette that makes these sneakers stand out; other finer details are at play to make them truly special. So, let’s start our exploration from the top.

The upper part of the sneaker presents an impressive blend of suede and canvas, creating a stunning textured finish. The base— comprising the toe box and quarter panels — is constructed from a soft canvas material. This fabric showcases a subtle gradient look, featuring a dominant icy blue tone, delicately accentuated with subtle hints of white.

The beautifully textured suede overlays on the mudguard, collar, and heel continue the understated ombre effect. Some suede sections even have a faint “cracked” aesthetic, fashioned to imitate cracking ice. It’s a distinct and visually striking design choice that is perfected on the iconic Nike Profile Swooshes.

The Swooshes on this shoe are fashioned from leather with a cracked texture that only serves to intensify the sneaker’s icy look. This small yet impactful element helps to hit home the sneaker’s “Glacier” theme.

The magic of the Air Force 1 “Glacier” is further highlighted by its blue midsole and outsole, which present a captivating gradient effect. This colour transition begins with a deeper blue shade at the upper part of the sole, gradually lightening into an icy blue towards the bottom. The look is then styled with thick, icy blue rope laces that lend a bold touch to the shoe.

Given that each pair of these beautiful sneakers is hand-dyed, the gradient effect on each will be different, ensuring a unique charm for each pair. Still, even with minor changes, all the design choices previously mentioned create a beautiful wintery aesthetic that is an absolute must-have for this festive season.

This gorgeous pair of Air Force 1 “Glacier” sneakers are currently available from Custom By J1’s website for a cool £300.00 GBP, roughly equivalent to $380 USD. Thankfully, they offer worldwide shipping, so customers from all over the globe can get their hands on these exquisite sneakers.
