There’s no doubt that the Air Jordan 3 pulls off an all-black look with ease. Just look at the original “Black Cement” colourway released in 1988 or the incredibly stylish “Black Cat” design debuted in 2007. These masterpieces alone are enough to demonstrate how the Air Jordan 3 owns the all-black/ predominantly black colourway. But we’ve cooked up a “Black Python” Air Jordan 3 concept to cement that status.

The primary material used to conjure up this design is dark black leather. But there are plenty of other patterns and textures added for a subtle pop. For example, the uppers feature a stunning tumbled leather finish, while the mudguard is made from smooth full-grain leather in a slightly darker shade of black. You’ll also spot that the customary elephant print at the toe and heel is done with a mix of ash grey and black. It’s also given more of a scale-like texture as a nod to the “Python” theme.

The design also weaves in other black touches, including the black tongue with tonal branding, the eyelets, and the dark black laces.
The final touch is a glossy black midsole paired with a matching rubber outsole. This blacked-out look is the stuff of sneaker dreams.

This “Black Python” Air Jordan 3 concept was brought to life by our brilliant creative lead here at Sneaker Fortress. While we wish this design were more than just a concept, nothing stops you from creating your very own pair. In fact, we’ve seen a number of skilled custom artists cook up “Python” themed sneakers in the past.
One example is this beautiful custom Air Jordan 3, created by Jake Ferrato (@jbfcustoms). Ferrato designed the sneaker for American rapper Wale as a way to commemorate his third studio album The Gifted that was released back in 2013. As you can see below, the silhouette is covered in exotic Python leather.

Hopefully, the Jumpman team will consider adding more Jordans covered in faux Python leather to its lineup in the future.
