The Air Jordan 3 Gets A Stunning “Black Python” Look

Without a shred of doubt, the Air Jordan 3 pulls off an all-black ensemble with remarkable elegance. Take, for instance, the original “Black Cement” colourway, first unveiled in 1988. This design continues to hold its iconic status, coveted by sneaker enthusiasts worldwide. Then, there’s the incredibly stylish “Black Cat” variant that debuted in 2007, adorned with a suave, completely black upper along with nuanced fabric variations. These masterpieces alone demonstrate how the Air Jordan 3 truly stands out when dressed in black. Therefore, it stands to reason that the “Black Python” Air Jordan 3 would make an exceptional addition to this stunning lineup.

Let’s dive straight in. The primary material used in these sneakers is dark black leather. Still, numerous patterns and textures are skilfully infused into the design, ensuring the design never appears dull or uninspired. For example, the upper part of the sneaker showcases a stunning tumbled leather finish that significantly enhances the shoe’s overall appeal.

To offer a subtle contrast and variation in texture, there’s a section on the mudguard made from smooth full-grain leather, presented in a slightly darker shade of black. You’ll also spot that the customary elephant print, which usually adorns the toe and heel, has now been swapped out for a fabric that mimics the look of a snake’s skin. This may seem like an understated alteration, but it is noticeable if you look closer.

You’ll notice that the design cleverly sews in other black touches throughout different aspects. These include the black tongue proudly donning tonal branding, the eyelets, and the stark black laces.

Complementing the shoe’s all-black theme, the design concludes with a glossy black midsole paired with an equally black rubber outsole. Overall, the shoe’s design exudes a sleek and sophisticated aesthetic, perfect for those who appreciate subtle yet stylish details.

The striking design of the “Black Python” Air Jordan 3s is something to behold, brought to life by our brilliant creative lead here at Fortress of Solitude. The outcome? A pair of sneakers that we all wish were more than just a concept.

Whilst this design might be nothing but a fantasy, nothing stops you from commissioning your very own pair. In fact, we’ve previously seen artists skilled in customising sneakers produce similar designs.

One striking example is the custom Air Jordan 3, created by Jake Ferrato (@jbfcustoms) for American rapper Wale, commemorating his third studio album The Gifted, released in 2013. This distinctive sneaker was also referred to as the “Black Python”.

The sneaker’s design, cloaked in black snakeskin leather, exhibited subtle shades of grey and red for that dash of contrast. This specific design once more demonstrated how effectively the Air Jordan 3 thrives in predominantly black colourways – a style direction we hope will only expand in the future.
