Since his fiery appearance on Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay podcast, the comedian Katt Williams has been setting the internet ablaze. Many are fixated on his numerous volleys against his comedic peers, while others, including myself, are grappling with the revelation that he managed to get through a staggering 3000 books in a single year – we’re talking about 8.2 books daily (I might be alone in this, but the math just aint matching). Nevertheless, unless you’ve consciously taken a sabbatical from the internet, you’ve undoubtedly skimmed through some of the standout moments from his interview. With the whirl of attention that Katt Williams has been courting, it was just a matter of time before someone created “Kat Williams” Air Jordan 1 sneakers. And yes, that someone is us.

Taking cues from one of Katt Williams’ most iconic looks — you know, the flipped overturned hairstyle and velvet green suit jacket from his famed stand-up act The Pimp Chronicles Pt. 1— our Sneaker Fortress design duo, Jarrod Saunders and Brandon Krige, have created a stunning Air Jordan 1 design that you are sure to fall in love with. I definitely have.

The “Katt Williams” Air Jordan 1 features an exquisite green velvet upper, echoing the entertaining comedian’s signature green suit. This beautiful fabric covers the toe box and overlays in a darker shade of green, while a softer green hue graces the quarter panels and collar for a contrasting touch.

The nylon tongue and light green laces then complement the quarter panels and collar, all featuring a coordinating shade of green. These details are subtly accentuated by the “Nike Air” label on the tongue, which proudly displays the same green hues as the rest of the design.

Elsewhere, the Nike Swoosh of these “Katt Williams” sneakers gives an extra kick with its brilliant white velvet material. Of course, if you’ve seen Katt Williams’ stand-up comedy show, you’ll know that his flashy silk tie inspired this pop of white. The Swoosh is then beautifully matched by the white Wings insignia on the ankle flap for some added aesthetic appeal.

Finally, the upper’s design is perfectly complemented by a white midsole and a green rubber outsole, which blend beautifully into the shoe’s overall aesthetic. Although the design may come across as relatively simple, it makes a bold statement with its striking use of green velvet, rendered in what I consider to be the perfect shades of green.

While the “Katt Williams” Air Jordan 1 is a concept pair dreamed up by our talented Sneaker Fortress creatives, don’t let its unrealised status put you off! If this stunning design grabs your attention, feel free to commission your own personalised pair.

However, do bear in mind that velvet may not stand the test of time, as well as some other materials. Still, it could be a fabulous addition to your collection, perfect for making a statement on those special occasions. So don’t sleep on this beautiful velvety design!

What are your thoughts on the “Katt Williams” Air Jordan sneakers? Would this be a colourway you would wear, or is it a hard pass for you?
