In honour of the Air Jordan 3 silhouette’s 35th anniversary last year, Jordan Brand recreated a beloved colourway on the Air Jordan 1 silhouette—that’s right, they made an Air Jordan 1 High “True Blue.” This special release was (and still is) a beauty in the AJ1 lineup, so keep reading to find out how to get your hands on a pair.
A Closer Look At The Sneaker
Apart from the fact that it features a colour scheme inspired by the legendary “True Blue” colourway—a look that made its debut on the Air Jordan 3 in 1988—you might be wondering what makes this pair so special. Well, to start, the pair was made in accordance with the model’s 1985 specs, which is always a bonus for longtime Jordan fans.
The shoe is also constructed from premium leather materials: cement grey nubuck accents the heel and ankle collar, while smooth white leather makes up the base. Finally, that signature blue hue appears in smooth leather on the eyestays, swooshes, and toe.
And let’s not forget this pair features the familiar woven tongue tags included in the design as well as classic OG-style NIKE AIR shoebox. The only element really lacking from the shoe to create the ideal homage to its AJ3 predecessor would be a hint of red. But considering how stunning these are, it’s easy to overlook.
Where to Grab The Air Jordan 1 High “True Blue”
Thankfully, there’s still a chance to claim this beauty, even if you missed last year’s official release date. If you want to get your hands on a pair of these awesome sneakers, check out resale websites like StockX, GOAT, and eBay. Prices on different websites can start at $20 USD and go all the way up to $428 USD.
That said, there are also more beautiful Air Jordan 1 sneakers releasing in the coming months that may appeal to your sneaker senses. Look out for the Air Jordan 1 Mid “Legend Blue,” the Air Jordan 1 Low “Black Denim,” and even a few Jordan 1 High OG colourways that will be reissued as Low OGs.
