Custom sneakers are all the rage right now, with sneaker customisers becoming more popular by the day. One of the pairs of sneakers that they love to customize is the Nike Air Jordan 1. One of the rising sneaker artists of late, John Trottier (@johnnyskicks), has been blowing up on Instagram, and people have fallen in love with one of his sneakers: the Stewie Griffin-inspired Air Jordan 1.

The sneakers have been altered to resemble Family Guy, complete with comic-style shadows, bright colours, and cartoonish outlines on every piece of the panelling. The sneakers are inspired by different sections of Stewie’s iconic yellow and red outfit.

Starting from the base of the sneakers, several parts of the pair are white, starting with the outsole and midsole. Without being able to see a seam between the two, this offers a put-together look that is seamless and simple, offsetting the business of the rest of the sneakers. The Nike Swoosh logo on the medial side is also white, but with a cartoonish black outline around it to ensure it stands out from the rest of the shoe and against the white panelling that makes up the backdrop.

The upper lace stays are also white and have the same cartoonish outline that the Nike Swoosh logo has, but they also include animation-style shading that is coloured with grey to really make it look like the person wearing them has stepped out of a cartoon. Next, we see the red of Stewie’s overalls represented on the mudguard panel that meets the lower lace stays, as well as portions of the panelling that wrap around the ankle. This red ranges from bright red to a darker maroon colour, which once again represents the cartoonish shading that you would see in a comic book brought to life in the real world.

The yellow of the shirt that Stewie wears under his overalls is also present on elements like the toe box of the sneakers, the mid-lace stays, the chevron-type detail of the heel counter, and the outer rim of the tongue. Speaking of the tongue of the sneakers, you can see some sweet custom tongue tags that are embroidered to display an image of Stewie in his iconic outfit and pulling a cheeky expression.

Finally, you might think that the bright blue laces seem a little out of place compared to the rest of the sneakers or that the creator has decided to try his hand at combining the primary colours. Still, the laces perfectly represent Stewie’s own blue shoes, which are matched perfectly to the diagram on the tongue labels.

As always, you can clearly see that Trottier has knocked it out of the park once again with his amazing custom Stewie Griffin-inspired Nike Air Jordan 1 sneakers, and we can’t wait to see what the artist is going to do next.
