Jordan Brand Is Releasing A Retro Sneaker We Haven’t Seen Since 2018

The Air Jordan 10 Retro Shadow returns for the first time since 2018, staying true to its 1994 design with Charred Gray, True Red, and Black.

Jordan Brand is bringing back a classic we haven’t seen since 2018. The Air Jordan 10 Retro Shadow, originally released in late 1994, is set to return on November 19, 2025, for $210 USD. But this isn’t just any reissue, though. It’s a throwback to Michael Jordan’s brief break from the NBA, during which he tried his hand at Minor League Baseball before returning to the court in March 1995. The Shadow style was one of the models MJ wore during that comeback period, right before debuting the Air Jordan 11 in the 1995 postseason. So, yeah, it’s a pretty big deal in the sneaker world.

In fact, fans had been hoping the retro would include the scrapped ’94 toecap design, like the one used on the recent Air Jordan 10 Retro Steel release. Instead, the upcoming 2025 version will probably stick with the traditional single-layer toe box, which should please anyone who prefers the classic look. The Charred Gray, True Red, and Black colourway is expected to stay close to the original ’94 tones, though minor differences in the grey shade are possible. The mix of suede and leather on the upper also could match what made the original so distinctive.

2025 seems to be all about doing throwbacks to sneakers that defined the Air Jordan, and doing them right – the way fans want them.

One of the standout details on the Air Jordan 10 is the outsole, etched with a list of Jordan’s on-court achievements up to that point. It’s a subtle but iconic nod to his career that you don’t see on many other sneakers. Sure, the Shadow has never been the flashiest Jordan, but it has consistently sold out quickly, proving that sneakerheads respect the classic.

Looking back at previous reissues gives some context. The 2008 Countdown Pack version, for example, added features like a thicker Jumpman logo and the “23” embroidery on the side, but it wasn’t particularly close to the original. The 2018 release did a better job. Its taller tongue, lighter suede, and accurate Jumpman placement mirrored the 1994 OG more faithfully.

Fans are excited about the idea of the original version returning in 2025. One X commenter put it simply: “Dope!” Another added, “A must,” while a third noted, “$210 for Jordan 10 is wild but ima Cop lol.” Those reactions tell you all you need to know.

Expect the upcoming drop on November 19 via Nike’s SNKRS app and select retailers worldwide. If you’ve been waiting for a chance to own a true Air Jordan 10 Shadow, this is it. Between the nostalgic colourway and attention to detail, this is shaping up to be one of the highlights of the 2025 sneaker calendar.
