Air Jordan 3 "Wings" Sets Flight in 2024

The Air Jordan 3 is gearing up for an array of mesmerising colourways in 2024. From the sunset kissed J Balvin x Air Jordan 3 “Rio” to the effortlessly cool Nina Chanel Abney x Air Jordan 3 OG SP WMNS sneaker, and even the nostalgic return of the iconic “Black Cement” colourway in its original glory. However, few can match the commendable cause behind the Air Jordan 3 “Wings.” This particular release is a pillar of the Wings For The Future programme, designed to empower young individuals to chase their dreams, irrespective of their background.

More About the Cause Behind the Air Jordan 3 “Wings”

Each year, Jordan Brand rolls out special sneakers to support their remarkable Jordan Wings Scholarship Programme. Launched in 2015, this initiative provides scholarships and resources to high school students dedicated to achieving their potential through education.

To date, thousands of scholarships have been awarded. But to keep this impactful programme thriving, Jordan Brand channels proceeds from the sales of these limited edition sneakers into funding the scholarships.

Past releases have featured themes inspired by notable figures like Howard White, the brand’s vice president, and even the classic models in the Air Jordan series.

Now, for 2024, the official images have surfaced. They showcase an artistic reinterpretation of the beloved silhouette, promising to be a unique addition to the ongoing Wings series.

A Closer Look at the Sneaker Design

Air Jordan 3 “Wings”

The Air Jordan 3 “Wings” boasts an exquisite colourway in “White,” “Fire Red,” “Off-White,” “Vintage Green,” and “Rose.” The base is reminiscent of the classic “White/Cement” look, featuring an all-white leather upper complemented by the iconic grey elephant print on the toe and heel areas.

Accents in red embellish the Jumpman logo on the tongue, top and bottom eyelets, as well as the tongue trim and insole. Dark green then brings a bold touch to the middle TPU eyelets and sock liner.

What truly distinguishes this design is the exquisite rose imagery that graces the classic 1998 model. A canvas fabric with subtle floral patterns enhances the mudguard, eye stays, and collar, adding a touch of elegance and intrigue to the sneaker.

The rose theme continues on the heel, where a delicate pink rose blossom is showcased beneath the translucent Nike Air heel plate. Additionally, a poetic message is hidden behind the tongues, reading, “Up, rose — I too have thorns.” The packaging also reflects this beautiful imagery, featuring a rose motif on the box and tissue paper.

The look is completed with a white rubber midsole and pink rubber outsole. The midsole features a pink Air unit in the heel, while the outsole has a bold red traction pattern underneath.

The blend of materials and designs creates a unique twist on this timeless silhouette. The shoe exudes beauty and strength, making it a stunning addition to any sneaker collection when it releases in Fall 2024.
