How To Purchase The Travis Scott x Kobe 6 Protro Sneaker

With the recent frenzy around Kobe Bryant’s signature sneaker releases (side note: were you able to secure the “Reverse Grinch” last December?), we’re thrilled about the prospects looming for this basketball legend’s footwear collection. With all the recent hype, we’re sure many sneaker enthusiasts must have wondered about potential future collaborations for Bryant’s highly sought-after designs. For instance, could there possibly be a Travis Scott x Kobe partnership on the cards?

Given the success of previous partnerships between the young rapper and Nike, like the much-acclaimed Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1, a possible tie-in with the late legends footwear line wouldn’t be a shock. However, even though a Travis Scott x Kobe team-up isn’t currently on Nike’s agenda, fans can still get their hands on an exceptionally crafted custom-made Travis Scott x Kobe 6 Protro “Mocha” sneaker.

Travis Scott x Kobe 6 Protro "Mocha"

Sneaker artist Mamba Concepts, renowned for creating custom made-to-order Kobe sneakers, recently unveiled their vision of a Travis Scott x Kobe 6 Protro, modelled on the rapper’s Air Jordan 1 “Mocha” release from 2019. Keeping true to its influence, the unique custom sneaker sports a colour scheme featuring “Dark Mocha,” “Black,” “University Red,” and “Sail”.

The dominant “Mocha” shade sweeps across the upper with the model’s scaly, textured segments and heel overlay all immersed in this coffee-brown tone. The richness of this hue beautifully balances with the smooth black leather that covers the heel and tongue.

The black shades continue on the sneaker’s laces and lining, offering a sleek, unified look. Then, for that much-needed pop of contrast, the vibrant “University Red” accents are strategically placed on the shoe’s branding. These lively red hues highlight both Kobe’s signature mamba branding and the unique “Cactus Jack” embellishments found on the heel and sides of the sneaker.

Needless to say, any collaboration involving Travis Scott would be incomplete without his iconic reverse Swoosh, which, in this instance, is dressed in a gentle “Sail” tone.

Completing the design is a contrasting “Black” and “Sail” sole unit, cleverly arranged in reverse order from the original Air Jordan 1 collaboration from which the custom borrows its inspiration.

What’s more, the sneaker is presented in a sleek black box adorned with the classic “Nike Air” and mamba branding in vibrant red on the lid. We’d think this was an official Travis Scott x Kobe collab if we didn’t know any better. It certainly looks the part.

While it may not be an off-the-rack collaboration, thankfully, fans are still offered the chance to own this distinctive custom design.
