Drake’s collaborations with Nike have continually evolved throughout the years. Yet each of his unique designs has referenced iconic Nike models of yesteryear while presenting a fresh and modern — dare we say, futuristic — aesthetic. His latest model, the NOCTA X Nike Hot Step 2, delves even further into nostalgic territory by embracing the brand’s legendary “Eggplant” colourway across its silhouette.
A Closer Look At The Sneaker
This wouldn’t be the first time a Nike ambassador has utilised this iconic colourway to enhance their signature shoes. Just this year, LeBron James and Nike brought sneakerheads a Nike Zoom LeBron 4 draped in the same shimmering purple look.
The NOCTA X Nike Hot Step 2 continues this trend, featuring a full “eggplant” look with purple mesh and synthetic leather fabrics. “Gunmetal” accents then highlight strategic areas like the sneaker’s miniature Swoosh logos and also the Air unit in the heel.
The finishing touch includes NOCTA branding on the tongue, a detail likely to extend to the insoles, judging by previous colourways. Overall, it’s a striking look for the model and certainly one of the more playful colourways we’ve seen on the Hot Step 2 silhouette.
