Balmain’s visionary head of sneaker design, Safa Sahin, is back with another exciting collaboration with FILA. But this time, he infuses his distinctive style into a brand-new model for the South Korean-owned brand. In true Sahin fashion, the talented designer from Turkey is pushing boundaries in the sneaker world with the much-anticipated FILA x Safa Sahin “SAWW”.

A Closer Look At The Sneakers

Just one galance, and it’s easy to discern where these sneakers get their name. The silhouette boasts a distinctive curved shape with a jagged sole extending from the bottom, reminiscent of the serrated edge of a saw. When viewed from the side, it exudes a cool, futuristic vibe that’s utterly otherworldly and also perfectly aligned with Sahin’s maximalist design approach.

Other noteworthy elements on this pair include a black sock bootie, which falls in line with the shoe’s asymmetrical look, and a mix of materials: canvas for the base, knit material on the inner bootie, and thermoplastic polyurethane for the moulded accents that adorn the shoe.

Naturally, these FILA x Safa Sahin “SAWW” kicks have been imagined in three different colourways—at least for now—but the black and orange pair undoubtedly stands out as the most striking option we’ve seen.

FILA x Safa Sahin “SAWW” Release Details

But don’t get too excited just yet—these distinctive sneakers will be available exclusively in China for the time being. And there’s no word on a global release. Your best chance might be to scout for a pair on resale platforms, albeit at a premium price.

While we cross our fingers for a wider release, why not explore some other futuristic sneakers currently on the market or get a first look at the upcoming “Cyber Metallic” adidas Harden Volume 9, launching in 2025? And don’t forget to follow us here at Sneaker Fortress for more updates, drops, and reviews.
