Throughout 2024, Nike SB has played with designs inspired by the City of Paris. The brand honoured the French capital with everything from a “City of Love” SB Dunk Low to a “City of Cinema” pair releasing later this year. But next year, the Nike skate division will turn its attention to the beautiful City of Los Angeles with a “Verdugo Mountains” SB Dunk Low.
A Closer Look At The Sneakers
The first thing that catches your eye about this pair is the “Pistachio Frost” suede that covers the entire base. The colour and texture represent the scenic mountain range that overlooks LA. However, there are other less subtle allusions to the California mountain range, too. The first is a map of the Verdugo Mountains printed on the inside of the left tongue, while a bike graphic is featured on the right. The insole also showcases a cartoon depiction of a man riding a bike down the mountain with the LA radio towers seen in the surroundings.
From there, the Swooshes offer some contrast with “Wolf Grey” tumbled leather and a dark black outlining, while a pop of orange livens up the branding on the heel. A “Gum Yellow” midsole and black rubber outsole complete the design, giving the shoe a subtle outdoor feel.
While there will undoubtedly be plenty of stunning options in next year’s Nike SB Dunk Low lineup, this is unquestionably a standout choice for those who appreciate the nod to California’s natural beauty. Let’s just hope there will be more LA-themed SB Dunks on the cards, similar to the collection they had for Paris.
Nike SB Dunk Low “Verdugo Mountains” Release Details
The precise release details of this pistachio-coloured beauty are still unknown, but it is anticipated to happen in the Fall of 2025 via Nike.com and select skate shops. The sneaker will be released in men’s sizes for $125 USD a pair.
But there are plenty more enticing Nike SB Low drops on the way before then, and we can’t contain our excitement. These include a stylish “City of Cinema” design, a Wizard of Oz-themed pair, and another Yuto Horigome x Nike SB Dunk Low release in the colour “Asparagus.” Until then, stay tuned to Sneaker Fortress for more sneaker drops and reviews.
