If there’s one thing that wasn’t on our 2025 bingo card, it was Lakers star LeBron James receiving his own Ken doll. While we may not have seen it coming, we’re pretty sure fans will welcome this significant milestone in LeBron’s career with open arms, especially given the fact that the figure does a great job capturing the King’s elevated street style aesthetics—not to mention his legendary sneaker game.

LeBron himself got his hands on the doll first. His reaction? Classic Bron energy: “Oh, he dope!” That’s from the man himself, folks. When he noticed the doll’s skinny legs, he joked it “might have to do a little lifting.”

A Closer Look At The Doll

James and the Barbie team worked closely together to make sure his likeness was accurately replicated on the doll. First of all, the figure is taller than your average Ken doll. This larger stature called for a custom-designed package to accommodate the size difference.

Fans will also appreciate the attention to detail in the doll’s outfit. The athlete is dressed in a blue and white varsity jacket with the words “LJ” on the front and “Just A Kid From Akron” on the back. Underneath that, he wears a t-shirt that reads “We Are Family” with a pair of houndstooth slacks below. The doll also comes with a set of Beats headphones, LeBron’s signature ‘I Promise’ band on the wrist, a hat with a crown logo, and a pair of blacked-out sunglasses.

Most important, though, are the sneakers. While the doll isn’t sporting the King’s signature shoes on his feet, he does have a stylish pair of Nike Terminator High sneakers that perfectly match his varsity jacket. What’s more, the White/Game Royal Terminator High Nike sneakers themselves are currently on sale for $81.97 USD on Nike.com. So, you can step up your own sneaker game and match the LeBron mini-me.

In case you don’t realise the significance of the accolade, LeBron James is the first professional male athlete to receive a Barbie Ken doll in their likeness as part of Barbie’s Signature Kenbassadors collection, which recognises iconic Ken figures that promote positive change. And, given his numerous accomplishments on and off the court, it’s clear that LeBron James deserves this recognition.

Fans have been quick to praise the Kenbassador. “Quality build. Looks collectable from the get-go,” one said. Another called it “incredible news” and pointed out LeBron’s role model status makes him the perfect “first Barbie Kenbassador.” A bit of humor came from Instagram: “Grown men will get these sold out ASAP.” Yep, sneakerheads and collectors are ready to snatch this up.

Here’s the kicker — the doll is sold out everywhere in the US. Major retailers couldn’t keep them on shelves. But while some are asking up to $175 on eBay and Poshmark, StockX has it for under $100.
