John Trottier Reveals KAWS x Air Jordan 1 High 

The introduction of a KAWS x Air Jordan 1 High would be a much-welcomed gift to celebrate the Jumpman Label's 40th anniversary in 2025.

It’s been quite some time since we’ve witnessed a collaboration between Jordan Brand and KAWS. Although the creative artist gave the Air Force 1 a fresh look with Nike just last year, their last joint effort on an Air Jordan silhouette dates back to 2017 with the AJ4. However, with the Jumpman Label’s big 4-0 approaching in 2025, I am sure we’re all crossing our fingers for a new collaboration soon. Here to fuel these hopes is a KAWS x Air Jordan 1 High concept by sneaker artist John Trottier. 

A Closer Look at the Design 

This intriguing concept borrows heavily from the aesthetic of the KAWS x Air Jordan 4 yet introduces additional elements to keep the design feeling novel and exciting.

The upper section is made from textured grey suede, adorned with that distinctive fist pattern etched into the material. However, this concept makes sure to highlight the pattern in dark black, ensuring the nod to Brian Donnelly’s companion characters doesn’t go unnoticed. 

The black hue extends to the laces, ankle flap, and tongue, where the label proudly displays the designer’s iconic “XX” emblem. From there, pink accents the inner lining, while bold yellow and blue Swooshes add playful pops of colour on the sides. Plus, a miniature “XX” emblem appears on the mudguard, highlighted in the same luminous yellow. 

The design is rounded off with a black midsole and grey rubber outsole, which we imagine features the same teal glow-in-the-dark effect as its AJ4 predecessor. This concept undoubtedly leaves us eager for more official collaborations between KAWS and Jordan, or perhaps just custom-designed pieces we can actually add to our collections. 

Is the KAWS x Air Jordan 1 High Available for Purchase? 

Sadly, this stunning creation remains just a concept for now, with no confirmed or rumoured KAWS x Air Jordan 1 design in the works either. However, you might consider reaching out to Trottier directly via direct message or email to inquire about the possibility of having a pair brought to life. 

In the meantime, this talented artist has plenty more spectacular custom and concept designs to admire. From “Hand-Carved” leather Air Jordan 1s to a satin-covered design inspired by Bruce Lee, and yes, even another interpretation of a KAWS and Air Jordan 1 collab, there’s plenty to marvel at.
