The Japanese art of kintsugi has been cherished for centuries. It’s all about mending broken items with lacquer and gold, transforming imperfections into something uniquely beautiful and honouring the item’s history. Although traditionally applied to ceramics, SBTG Official has brilliantly transported this philosophy into the realm of sneakers, presenting the mesmerising “Kintsugi” Nike SB Dunk Low.

History Of SBTG’s “Kintsugi” Sneakers

The inspiration behind these sneakers lies in upcycling vintage footwear into stunning masterpieces, a journey SBTG embarked on during the pandemic by reviving vintage 80s Air Jordans.

Just like all sought-after creations, the demand for these distinctive pairs surged, ushering in the “Kintsugi” Nike SB Dunk Low sneakers. This edition features Hermes scarves and vintage bandanas, giving the cherished model a fresh lease of life.

A Closer Look At The Design

At the heart of the sneaker is a harmonious blend of smooth and tumbled sail leather, complemented by tan leather on the heel, ankle flap, and tongue trim. Each detail is thoughtfully curated for a seamless aesthetic.

Moving to the toe box, tongue, and collar, these areas are adorned with luxurious Hermes silk scarves showcasing images of mythical creatures, flowers, statues, and symbols — our personal favourite being the unicorn design.

Adding to the visual feast, vintage bandana print details are artfully placed on the side Swooshes and inner lining, adding another layer of storytelling to this pair.

The overall look is brought together with a sail midsole, gum rubber outsole, and matching mint-coloured laces. To top it off, the sneakers are accompanied by an additional set of laces, a cedarwood shoe tree & horn, a glass capsule, and a plush velvet dust bag, all housed in a custom teal box. The level of detail here is truly remarkable.

How To Grab A Pair Of “Kintsugi” Nike SB Dunk Low

That said, the level of detail and craftsmanship meticulously poured into each pair comes with a price tag to match. Securing a pair of these exquisite kicks will cost you $1,899 USD, but the good news is that international shipping is included.

If you’re eager to own a pair of “Kintsugi” Nike SB Dunk Lows, head over to the SBTG Official Website to place a pre-order. But do note that each pair is meticulously crafted, and production takes 6-8 weeks.
