Michael Jordan’s mother, Deloris Jordan, has been a big part of his legacy, both on and off the court. Without her, he might have signed with Adidas instead of Nike. Ben Affleck’s Air reminded everyone of the story: Deloris convinced a stubborn young MJ to at least hear Nike out. The rest is, as they say, sneaker history. She’s been featured in plenty of Nike promos over the years, including that ridiculous old commercial where she’s shown dunking, only for the cutaway shot to reveal it’s clearly some random bearded guy flying to the hoop. Now, in 2026, Jordan Brand is honoring moms again with a fresh Mother’s Day release of the Air Jordan 11 Retro Low. And it looks… familiar.
If you remember 2016’s Air Jordan 11 “Closing Ceremony,” think of that, but reworked with a softer, more personal touch. The upcoming women’s exclusive sports a white base with metallic gold accents on the patent leather mudguard. There’s even a heart-shaped pendant that reads “my heart,” because if you’re gifting these to your mom, that charm better do the talking when she asks how much you spent.

The sneakers are expected to retail for $195 and drop in summer 2026, right in time for Mother’s Day. No official style code or full colorway list yet, but early mockups from SneakerFiles have fans talking. And talking… a lot.
One Facebook user joked, “Nah these ain’t for mom…these for your homies that went on the drill with you…my heart.” Another pointed out the similarity to past releases, saying, “So closing ceremonies with mesh upper not leather and a mother tag lol.” Then there was the classic sneakerhead complaint: “Is barely a month past Father’s Day and they already talking about Mothers Day… Just couldn’t wait to get that foot back in the door huh?”

If you’re keeping track, this isn’t the first time Jordan Brand has paid tribute to MJ’s parents, or parents in general. In May 2025, they dropped the Mother’s Day-themed Air Jordan 4 Retro “Forget Me Not,” which came with removable flower patches. Go back even further, to 2008, and you’ll find two Father’s Day-inspired Air Jordan 1s. And let’s not forget Michael’s own “World’s Best Dad” Air Jordan 3 lined up for 2026. Clearly, Jordan Brand knows how to work the family angle, and people keep buying.
But will the 2026 Mother’s Day Air Jordan 11 sell out as quickly as the Olympic-themed “Closing Ceremony” Lows from 2016? Those were men’s sizes and had nothing to do with moms, yet they flew off shelves. This time, with the sentimental pendant and women’s exclusive sizing, it feels like a sneaker that’s both a gift and a flex.
