These custom Power Ranger x Nike Dunk Lows feature the colourways for each of the original five Power Rangers, with the later introduction of the sixth. This includes the Red (Jason), Black (Zack), Pink (Trini), Yellow (Kim), Blue (Billy) and Green (Tommy) Power Rangers.

The Popular 90s TV Show

Go, go, Power Rangers! With their very first appearance on our tellys in the iconic Mighty Morphin Power Rangers series in 1993, the Power Rangers have certainly conquered the hearts of kids and the young-at-heart across several generations. This iconic brand has expanded its horizons far beyond the confines of the small screen, venturing not only into cinemas, comics and live shows, but also successfully diversifying its portfolio with an expansive range of toys both for enthusiastic kids and avid collectors. But let’s not stop our exploration of its super-powered universe there.

Nike Power Rangers Sneakers

The Power Rangers have made quite a name for themselves in the realm of pop culture, particularly making their mark in the trendy world of streetwear, with a special emphasis on sneakers. A few days ago, Sneaker Fortress featured the Power Rangers x Air Jordan 1 Mid sneaker – a concept that gained quite a bit of traction. As a result, we took a look back into the archives of another popular concept featuring your favourite alternate superheroes. This Mighty Morphin Power Rangers x Nike Dunk Low collection is a throwback designed by Bob Ng from their nobrainer.psd Instagram page. The colourful lineup features the entire crew from the original series from years ago.

The sneakers have their standard two-tone approach, with a base white with contrasting overlays. These overlays feature each of the colours of the various Power Rangers.

The Details

At the front of the sneaker, you have a series of triangular cutouts to resemble the same pattern on their original suits. Additionally, there are plenty of gold embellishes, which include the Swoosh logo as well as their respective Zord symbols on the rear. The gold trinkets resemble the motif on their belts, which also feature their respective Zords of various prehistoric animals. There is also a red tag at the rear of each of the sneakers’ Swoosh logo to add a bit of flair to the design.

Their names appear on the rear of the midsole in black lettering between inverted commas. The font itself isn’t from the Power Rangers official print but rather resembles something akin to handwritten notes. This black text sits atop an off-white midsole colour with a black rubber sole.

The laces across each of the sneakers are also off-white, with a black tongue in contrast to represent the blacked-out helmet visors. Three of the pairs feature a black toebox, while the other three feature a light grey finish. This grey matches the rear beneath the collar on each of the sneakers as well.

With the complete set of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers accounted for in this custom collection, it may have also been a great idea to feature the Megazord variants as a combination of each. That said, the colourway with six different colours may have been a little too bold for everyone’s taste.
