The grey palette first appeared as part of the New Balance design language and aesthetic in the 1980s. It was a practical choice for urban runners, in comparison to its competitors, who were moving towards more vibrant colours with neon hues and bright whites. The grey that New Balance introduced blended seamlessly with the concrete and asphalt of city running. What was initially a unique design choice, grey grew rapidly into something that defined the expression of the brand. It has been one of its signatures ever since, even four decades later.
Now, New Balance has announced its annual Grey Days celebration. The month-long campaign is celebrated annually throughout the month of May, and has seen plenty of renowned athletes, celebrities and ambassadors feature across a range of NB products in its signature colourway, honouring the unique and timeless influence of the grey palette. 2026 sees the return of the campaign, featuring special-edition products and immersive experiences across the globe.

Jeff McAdams, Senior Vice President Global Marketing at New Balance, had this to say about the Grey Days 2026 campaign:
“From its origins as a unique yet practical choice for urban runners to its status today as a classic brand signature, grey remains a powerful expression of New Balance’s heritage. Grey Days 2026 honors our evolution as a brand; it represents how innovation, craft, and an unwavering commitment to our fearlessly independent ethos have shaped who we are while showcasing the endless ways this iconic shade continues to inspire and reimagine what’s possible.”
With the success of previous years, New Balance has continued high visibility around the campaign, recruiting athletes and brand ambassadors to take part in Grey Days 2026. The roster includes Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, Andrew Reynolds, Marvin Harrison Jr., and Darius Garland, to name just a few. Marketing footage captured moments for the campaign, which included everything from Aminé raising the Grey Days flag in celebration to Quincy Wilson narrating “The Origins of Grey.” Each of these individual lend their unique personalities to the campaign, united by the unwavering foundation of grey.

The Grey Days 2026 collection has added plenty of new products, refreshed the classics, and celebrated all things grey. This includes products across all ranges, including lifestyle, performance, Numeric and even kids’ collections. The full list includes:
